Serious / Re: So much EU/Europe hate in this forum....
« on: March 13, 2015, 12:21:29 PM »
I like to see a union that prides itself on being the pinnacle of human governance and equality completely collapse in on itself.

It's gotten to where it's more interesting than watching America turn into what its founders rebelled against.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
That comment was meant to be lol2edgy4me.

The EU started off as a great idea:  Give citizens more autonomy (open borders between member states), have a unified currency to make exchange easier, and have a unified defense force.  The problem is that certain member states (Greece, Spain, a few others) have gone down the shitter, and as a result they're dragging down otherwise healthy economies (namely Germany).

The Flood / Re: Liberals' number one issue
« on: March 12, 2015, 08:43:18 PM »
Liberals' issue is that they claim to fight for the greater good despite being against the mechanisms that allow society to prosper (free markets, individual rights, etc.).

Conservatives' issue is that they're generally uneducated about issues that don't pertain to guns or religion.

Is it still the "lol Tea Party is tarded" thing from the previews?

My sides.

Greece is truly going down the shitter.  I hope Germany airdrops a crate of glitter in Athens.

I ate a homemade pot cookie (top kek) two weeks ago.  Chopped Andes mints into the dough.  Deficits.  High lasted me about six hours.

Gonna make some more this Sunday.

The Flood / Re: so the european union is banning menthol cigarettes
« on: March 12, 2015, 05:42:41 PM »
I guess I'm just surprised that anyone in this day and age starts smoking.

I understand people who got hooked before we knew how bad it was, but now? There's no reason to start smoking. It's terrible for you and expensive. I don't see the up side to starting smoking.
I'm pretty sure 99% of smokers are aware that smoking is detrimental to their health, but they still do it anyway. Not to mention that state regulation only encourages a black market to open up, as has been repeated throughout history time and time again. The prohibition period and the War On Drugs can attest to that.

Honestly Max, for someone who's a proponent of Marijuana legalisation, I'm pretty surprised you're in support of this.
A black market for cigarettes can't really be compared to one for other substances because you can't just grow cigarettes in your back yard.

Not advocating banning them.  Just saying.

Facebook to keep up with friends and troll local news posts, Twitter to keep up with businesses and people I'm interested in (pretty much all tech and video game related), and Reddit to keep up with U.S. and world news.

lol dude even if you're trolling, you're still a fucking loser
Real life:
>engineering major
>straight As
>shit ton of money in the bank
>lots of friends who take me places

Septagon:
>unpopular
>aggressive

I'm sure I'm a loser.
If you have all that, why the fuck are you getting so bent out of shape over an internet forum?

Sounds to me like you're one of those cases of a person that excels, but isn't very remarkable.  It's like the kids in school that get straight As and land themselves in a good state college, but then they end up with a desk job where the only impact they're having on the world is on their employer's bottom line.

The fact that you're so worked up is telling.  It's a sign that you've got some serous shit going on in your head that you need to check out.

I voted one time, and that was for Gary Johnson.  I don't plan to vote again.  Why?  Because I don't approve of the system.  The only reason to vote is to give your input on changing the system of government.  What if one of your core beliefs is that no one should have a monopoly on violence?  In this case, voting for either option is a vote against myself.

The state can be represented by a cattle ranch.  The bigger the government, the smaller the pen, and vice versa.  While voting may shrink or expand the size of the pen, it doesn't get rid of the problem (that is, the pen itself).
Is there no third party that represents this ideal?
There is no third party that is in favor of dismantling the U.S. government, no.
Let me guess, you think we can all live happily ever after without government right?
No.  I'm not delusional.

Got a brand new Fender Deluxe Active P-Bass Special for $525 ($175 less than retail price).  It should be here Thursday or Friday.  I'll post more pictures once I get it.  Been saving up for a few months.  So excited!

Too bad there wasn't an "abolish government" option.

It's no surprise that Republican Reps took control, but on a national scale they really don't stand a chance. You can't run on a platform against gays, women, minorities, the poor, healthcare, etc, and expect to win a national election.
If that's true, then the Democrats are running on a platform against free markets, gun rights, and anyone making over $50K.
LOL
Exactly
