Foreign girls are the only ones that I've told about my kinks. For some reason people across the pond are more accepting of that kind of stuff. Must come with the more progressive society.

My only concern with treating internet as a utility, is that ISPs will likely start charging you based on how much you use, rather than a flat monthly fee.
I don't see what's wrong with that.
Because servers are constantly running at 100%, regardless of how much data is being sent through. If there are enough servers to handle 10TB of information per second, and only 7TB of information is being sent per second, ISPs don't shut down the extra 3TB worth of servers. It's not like electricity where the amount of power being produced has to be equal to the amount of power being consumed. The value placed on data by ISPs is completely superficial.

Austerity is the government equivalent of spanking a child that got hit by a car.
I'd have thought you would've supported austerity.
When it comes to spending cuts, sure. Though that is usually coupled with tax hikes.

Are we still not discussing delegating more power to the states in order to lessen Congress' influence over everyone? I mean, each state might as well be its own country (especially when it comes to culture). Part of me is glad that government will be expanding a little bit slower over the next few years, but part of me is outraged because "deregulation" is being forced on people.

I'm of the belief that taxation is theft. That said, it is necessary for there to be a government.
Without taxes where would the founds for your roads and other state founded things come from?
In Anarchyville, roads would come from community cooperatives. In AnCapistan they'd come from corporate investments, paid for over time via tolls.

God damn you fucktards love to put words in people's mouths, huh? How about read some news for once? These stringent EPA regulations are going to cost the shutdown 32 coal plants with the possibility of 36 others http://www.governing.com/gov-data/energy-environment/coal-plants-to-shut-down-from-EPA-regulations.html March saw the LOSS of over 7,000 mining jobs as well, because of the EPA's harsh regulations http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jun/12/coal-mining-jobs-free-fall-after-epa-regs
Go on, keep playing the stupid card and think the economy is going to be fine. Because in the real world, away from your dogmatic beliefs the fact is the economy is going to collapse if the EPA doesn't back the hell off
Shutting down coal plants is a good thing. Sure it's a real bitch for the communities that depend upon them, but the world needs to move past fossil fuels and the sooner it does the better.
And it wouldn't surprise me if these horrific stringent regulations are only just bringing the USA into the same tier as the rest of the developed world.
The economy of the USA doesn't depend on coal mining, I would be pretty surprised if this even makes a 0.1% dent in things.
A transfer of economic power to green industries via natural (market) means would be a more desirable path than through government intervention. The current economic trend is toward green energy. Letting people and resources transfer to this developing industry would be better than saying "Fuck you." to 150,000 U.S. coal plant workers. When cars were developed the government didn't suddenly shut down the horse/carriage market. Sure some lost their jobs, but most learned to adapt. Energy companies can see that the next green revolution has arrived, and if they want to be on the positive side of this change then they'll either adapt or fall by the wayside. TL;DR The economic impact of suddenly shutting down the coal industry outweighs the benefits of doing so.

Honestly I think there needs to be a separate forum for politics, or at least one for general news stories (i.e. you link a news article and discuss it).
We need more posts that aren't bait or attacks (not criticisms, attacks) on other political philosophies.

I consider the HoR a better representation of the population's views.
Although the Senate ends up being more moderate in nature, and compromises usually originate from there (to get rejected by the House).

Liberals get butthurt when it comes to things like "common good", "equality" and environmentalism. Conservatives typically get butthurt when it comes to "muh guns", "muh taxes", and government intrusion into people's [Christians'] lives.

Not surprised with that
At least with America, much of out money is made straight from thin air and there isn't enough money in circulation to cover every withdrawal.
Say a person has a $100, and that was printed from the Reserve. The person deposits that in the bank and the bank only has to keep up to 10% of that (so 10$) in case the person wants to withdraw. Another person comes in for a $90 and the bank takes $90 of the person's $100 and loans that. So the bank created $90 out of thin air, making the total money $190. That process keeps going on and on
Isn't that basic monetary policy for every civilization that has ever existed?

Meh, more like the belt loops got cut. The Bible Belt is still here, it's just down around the South's ankles. I expect gay marriage to come to SC by mid-next year.
