people might go through an edgy phase in their teen years where they can't figure out who they are or why they're here, so they turn to nihilism or some other stupid philosophy (that has absolutely nothing to do with my own) and start hating the world for no particular reason, they're just going through a phase
the difference is that i have extremely detailed reasons and levels upon levels of multitudinous, layered, and nuanced perspectives for every single one of my deepest convictions, and i can sit here and argue all day about them, because they're literally the only things that i've thought about for the past decade
the kind of people you're talking about don't do anything of the sort, because they don't actually believe in anything

Your opinion will change or you're going to end up on the news. I don't think the way you do anymore because I grew out of that toxic mindset. I had a verb phase, verb is in a verb phase, tons of people go through a verb phase.
No, they don't. You never had my mindset, ever. Even if you did, it's not something that you "grow out of." You're basically saying that you got dumber, and started thinking less. Which is probably true.

Seriously, boxers who would have sex will go without it, and martial artists can really dedicate everything to the art. I'm sure there are other things people can care for as much, but when it comes to fighting it'll always hold a special place in my heart due to the physical pain you can get from being careless or unready.
I can kinda see that, I guess, but mostly for women and if you extend it to athleticism in general. I feel like most athletic pursuits have historically just been a show of masculinity and alpha-ness, which, of course, is just a roundabout way of attracting mates. Meanwhile, women athletes are a relatively new thing, and I feel like most women who work out do it because they actually want to, rather than for anybody else. Guys work out, generally, because they think it'll get them women. Women work out because... I really don't know. It's easier to generalize with guys, because women tend to have more nuanced reasons for doing the things they do. You might say it's because a lot of women tend to be health nuts, and good health leads to increased youthfulness, and the more youthful a woman looks, the more sexually desirable she is. I'm kinda rambling now, but I can't speak directly to boxing because I just don't have that perspective. You could be onto something, but my gut reaction is to be skeptical.

Nah, it would be kind of a relief tbh. Would be more productive if I never thought about that stuff. Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. It's probably fair to say that you need to be of a certain disposition to just be able to brush it off, and you're certainly of that disposition I'd say. But I really do think most other people wouldn't be able to cope. It would be interesting to see what they'd actually do.
