So which part of Evangelion is good? Just that movie?
kinda all of it? i would describe the movie as the best part though, yeah

it's a strange case where if you know what it's trying to do, and you can stomach the first half, which is not as good and has a lot of really dumb moments, but has necessary character developments and stuff that you need for certain emotional payoffs to work later, then you're going to have a pretty good time

dead-ass, even though the show is still a 6-borderline-7 for me, and EoE is an 8, the franchise taken as a whole would probably be a 9/10 for me if i still didn't have the (apparently disappointing) rebuild movies to watch

but if you find yourself losing patience with the characters' neuroticisms, which i can't really blame you for, then it'll only start becoming apparent what the show is really trying to do around the second half of the show, where it explodes in quality, and then EoE caps it all off with the most artistically gratifying mindfuck i have ever seen in my life

but that was in part due to the fact that i watched the entire show first, sooo

the average person who's into this type of show, i'd recommend watching at least six episodes
personally, i was glued to the screen after episode 4

Much like Pink Floyd's album "The Dark Side of the Moon" is rumored to synchronize with The Wizard of Oz (1939), this film is said to match with Nine Inch Nails' album "The Downward Spiral". If played together, "Hurt" will coincide with Third Impact. For this to work properly you must start the album on the opening slate with the vertical, white characters and you must pause the album during the intermission credits.
oh my fucking god

guess who's trying this RIGHT NOWWWWW
it actually kinda works somewhat

there are multiple points where it's like "okay this doesn't really fit at all" but i was taken off guard by the number of beats that would actually match up exactly with what's going on, or a song/lyrics just generally matching the vibe of the scene

Spoiler
hurt fittingly so perfectly over the third impact is a little bit too much for me to handle

big man with a gun playing during asuka's death scene + a warm place playing the moment shinji gets back into the sky and finds out she's dead was pretty perfect too

heresy and march of the pigs during the initial SEELE raid was pretty awesome

especially the latter half

link is NSFW and also spoilery obviously

Is Pineapple on puzza considered weird?
No

it's considered felonious

everything i eat is plain, almost nothing i eat is "normal"

i'll snack on a full pack of saltine crackers, literally just the crackers, and finish them in like 10 minutes

sometimes i'll eat plain hamburger or hot dog buns straight out of the bag if they're vegan

poketubers are such scum
What's happened? I used to watch Tamashii and Candyevie
Nothing in particular

it's just become startlingly apparent to me how all of them are just soulless cash-grabbing weasels who all make the same exact formulated clickbaity shit content made with low or no effort and are perfectly optimized to get as many views as possible by abusing the youtube algorithm

there are of course diamonds in the rough, i don't really mind tamashii and jwittz is okay

Why the fuck is gas nearly $4 a gallon
because people like you still pay for it, and are indifferent towards alternative energy sources
The actual answer is taxes.

There's something about these 80s-90s hand drawn animation styles that makes it so much more pleasant to watch
definitely agreed, i'm dreading the day i start breaching the modern homogenized style

3194
why can't anime just fucking start off good

3195
Couple of episodes into Trigun and it's enjoyable.
'98 so i'll be watching that one soon as well
What about Hunter x Hunter 1999?
i'll try it, but there may not be a point

it wasn't finished, right? or something
Neither is the newer anime or manga?
but they're planning on actually finishing this one, presumably

that's the other thing about it, because i prefer my stories to be finished before i jump into them

i don't play that waifu game but mantis is probably my favorite

3199
Why are capeshitters like OP so easy to spot? Do they think we forgot about them screeching when Based Runner 2049 won the oscar over that marvel piece of shit for children?
blade runner definitely deserved that oscar

3200
What would you do to a drunk chick?
make passive aggressive remarks on how drunk she is whenever she opens her mouth to say anything

depending on how drunk she is i guess

3201
But like, berserk is all about how shitty humanity is. It's exactly like devil man just with shittier animation and backwards sexist attitudes.

Plus the dude has a fuck off huge sword.
that's all well and good (except for the sword thing, big swords are lame), but i already brought all of that up

in the same way that i'm not going to trash a show based on its premise alone (golden boy), i'm not going to like something just because of its premise alone, either

the story of devilman precedes berserk and was actually the direct inspiration for it, and berserk doesn't seem to offer much beyond what i can't get from devilman, which is smarter, or texhnolyze, which is darker

there's ways of going about the message without coming across as childish or hamfisted, and to me, berserk fails

3202
how fucking hard is it to not speed, retards

if i'm 1 or 2 under the speed limit, i'm already worried

eh, i can wait two weeks i think

3204
no kid stuff allowed

anyway just got really wasted and fucked my wife twice, ama

3205
So verby-kun, you're getting close to 1999. Can you promise me that you're gonna give Great Teacher Onizuka more than one episodes worth of a watch?
sure

i've been told it's like golden boy, which was pretty awesome for what it was

yeah that's how weebs feel about anime

theost advanced ones know it's all garbage and watch it anyway with the hopes of finding one good one
even those ones enjoy more stuff than i do

3207
I watched the 3 Rebuild of Evangelion films and don't know what to think
i don't even wanna

3208
an alarm clock has been sounding off full blast for the past ten years of my life, and to this day, i still haven't allowed it to wake me up

sometimes i don't even hit the snooze button, and i let the noise build and fester and mute everything else around me

Nice to see you turn around on NGE. Anno was all kinds of fucked up mentally when he made it.

Also it seems like you dont remember but ive said in the past that NGE has a lot of themes you express, before your binge watching began.
hmm, yeah i have no recollection of that

thanks though, i guess—that would make you the first person to recommend me something that would resonate with me

i wanna record a music video of me dancing to komm süsser tod over footage of the world ending
