1. Make immigrants integrate into the common culture under pain of ejection.
2. Make treason a capital offence again.
3. Increase military spending so that it is actually capable of protecting the UK's interests.
4. Nuke the money blackholes that are the NHS and the welfare state.
5. Reform the house of lords to be a) non-hereditary and b) appointed by the state.
6. Leave the EU and seek closer ties with the common wealth.
7. Seek better relations with Norway and Finland.
8. Stop being retarded with Iran and give them nukes.
9. Make criminal sentences be as long as they say on the tin.

It's 10.93 in dollars. 12 hours a week.

Gaming / Re: Fallout 3 vs Fallout: New Vegas
« on: September 04, 2014, 07:26:14 PM »
New Vegas was a better Fallout game compared to the loltasticly stupid lore for F3, but the rush job really hurt new Vegas. Would have loved to see the Brotherhood chapter that was behind Caesar lines and fighting a holding action in order for the scribes to withdraw. Or the Legion's lands of autonomous settlements. Or the many companions that were cut.

If they were easy, then why didn't they stop the American Revolution?

Because neither solution was implemented.

A major cause for the Revolution WAS the increase military presence right after the French and Indian War (7 Years War if you wanna call it to the conflicts outside of North America). An even bigger military presence would just even more people off and gain a bigger movement to revolt.

The reason for the dispute over military presence was a) religious zealots had enjoyed massive power in the colonies prior to the Seven years war and the presence of lawful British authorities such as the British army started to encroach on social arenas that up until that point they had enjoyed almost complete control over, and b) the previous lack of British military power in that region of the world had caused the British forces to become alienated from the people.

Though even with this pre-existing alienation between British forces and the American people the presence of common culture and language started to ease disputes in garrison cities.

During the Revolution, France, Spain, the Dutch Republic, and the Vermont Republic fought alongside the colonies so even if they were facing defeat, these countries could have helped train and better equip the the rebels

You do know that is precisely what happened right? Due to cycling out of veteran regiments and engagements at sea with the French navy the possibility of being able to keep running both the American and the Indian projects simultaneously dissapeared. The British establishment did what was practical and focused on the Indian theatre with the conflict with Mysore due to the disparity of profit.

The French saved the Americans from being reconquered at the price of their Royalty. Serves them right for dragging the war beyond 1776-1777 when we were negotiating ending the rebellion in return for entrance into the house of Commons and house of Lords in the Carlisle commission.

I wish their was a BoS endgame quest. Even if it was totally removed from the Battle of the Hoover dam and only concentrated on the BoS exuding influence over Hidden Valley and the HELIOS one plant.

Love what-if questions

Plenty of people would be executed, more British troops would arrive, and everything would be highly restricted. This will only lead to more amger towards the British, causing a movement similar to a mixture of the muhajideen from tne 80's, French Revolution, and rebellion in colonial Spanish holdings. Europe powers gostile against the British wouldbsupply an aid future American rebels and these Europeans will attack Britain

You're retarded. The British Empire had two very easy methods of stopping the rebels in their tracks. 1) was to increase military presence and investiture (indeed the rebellion was only possible due to the change in geopolitical goals). 2) was to cut investiture into the India project and not cycle out the veteran regiments that would fight the campaign.

The media sure as shit isn't.

Because they aren't the same as Al-Qaeda. IS are a legitimate military power. They have proper military academies where Al-Qaeda had tribal gun schools and suicide bomber camps. They have a love of artillery where as Al-Qaeda had none. They have tanks and a code of law where as Al-Qaeda had none. IS is a different beast they could legitimately run a stable government.

Damn...but still, I would pick the NCR over the Legion any day.

I dunno. Both societies came out of their environments. The NCR had more survivors because more vaults were stationed on the west coast which then lived through not one but two unifying conflicts with external forces. Legion evolves in an area of brutal conflict where all sides practiced genocide just to ensure they lived another day. The Legions subjects have no rights, but they never had any to begin with so the prosperity brought by the Legion under its absolute moral code is an acceptable and even preferable trade to the environment that spawned it.

That's not including California right? Cause the NCR itself is pretty damn good.

Not really. NCR has widespread poverty, class conflict and press ganging. Legion territory is more agrarian, has a higher base cleanliness and is safe to travel unlike NCR territory. Even going from Shady Sands to Maxson you're likely to get jumped a dozen or more times. Not so in Legion territory.

Daily reminder that deadlines caused Obsidian to cut all of the content that would have grounded the Legion. The Legion is separate from the lands they administrate, the citizens of Legion territory have local governments (i.e. the Legion is a military independent of the territories under it's protection) and generally a better quality of life than the NCR for the most part.

472
It's not as rare as you think, men just don't report being raped.

They also have the problem of the law trying it's best to disqualify men from being victims of the crime:
1) guy and gal have sex drunk, guy is automatically a rapist
2) under many systems forced to penetrate is not counted as a crime more serious then groping (including UK law)
3) Police have sometimes refused to mobilise despite overwhelming evidence corroborating the claimants story.

Van Buren was gonna be pretty good judging from the design document and the demo. A competent Caesars legion is something the series is begging for since they own a territory in excess of all the other major powers in the game.

Serious / Russia in Ukraine. Ron Paul edition.
« on: August 28, 2014, 05:40:06 PM »
It has recently transpired that a "volunteer" force of Russian soldiers and artillery pieces has moved through the uncontrolled border zone between Russia and Ukraine. The Russian forces have since moved to the south of the current engagement between the Ukrainian army and the Donetsk led separatists. In an emergency meeting of NATO the Russian ambassador did not deny that there were indeed Russian soldiers inside of the Ukraine but instead insisted that they were volunteers. Speculation at the present time by western military officials indicates that this movement may intend to secure a land bridge between Crimea and Russia and possibly annex the Novorussian rebels.

I'm not even sure why Canadians think they can claim credit for it considering they weren't even involved in the battle. The DC burning was purely a British endeavor.

We lost a pretty bad ass General in that endeavor as well. :C
