The Flood / Re: boring, incoherent blog/rant« on: December 20, 2014, 02:33:47 PM »Perhaps it has a bearing on him being wrong, but it needn't be brought up. Considering that he seems to be clueless on the subject that is likely the case. I think some people were just insulted that someone could be so ignorant about life and just immediately assumed his wealth was the reason for it, not the other way around like you suggested. 213
Gaming / Re: The new zoom mechanic for Halo 5 is great.« on: December 20, 2014, 02:18:58 PM »From a completely match-to-match based system to XP, upgrades and levels. Honestly this is what bothers me the most. I don't mind changes to gameplay (the only things really I don't like about CoD's gameplay are the awful gunplay and killstreaks), but having the emphasis shifted away from winning and getting achievements to endlessly grinding points is a travisty. I have so many good memories of working with my friends to get various achievements for halo 3 and ODST, but Halo 4 was just a forgettable timesink. 214

I personally didn't think duel made enough of a difference, I use Ultimate Combat: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36006/? Combined with Combat Evolved: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56147/? I also recently started set up my game with PerMa, which also overhauls the weapons by adding unique effects to new class types among a ton of other stuff, but it can be a pain in the ass to install since it uses a skyproc patcher that will not work properly if you have an incompatible mod installed (they're constantly updating the compatibility xml): http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59849/? Also, some people might prefer Enhanced Blood Textures instead of Crimson tide, only a matter of personal taste: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12798/? 215
Gaming / Re: Does Riverwood seem more developed, diverse or whatever term you want to use to?« on: December 19, 2014, 09:18:10 PM »Link? <.<There's a mod for that.Wish the game had randomly generated npc villagers. That would be nice. Every so often when you visit a location you come across some people that are from different areas of Skyrim and the other countries/areas in the lore. I know several mods that add new npcs. This one expands all the 5 major capitals with new buildings and a few new npcs: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58275/? This one expands all small villages with more buildings, npcs and new textures: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13608/? This one adds 94 unique custom-voiced npcs to all towns. Quality varies, but generally on par with bethesda's voice acting: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36334/? This one adds 250 unique-custom voiced npcs all over the place and over 50 quests, dips here and there but has some really well-develpoed characters: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8429/? This one adds patrols of dawnguard, soldiers, and bandits to the roads, as well as a bunch of random travelers and peddlers: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12977/? This adds several battles between rival factions, so you'll actually get to see the civil war happening outside the main quest: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9494/? This one adds random generic npcs, but I don't use it since combining it with the others above could blow up my laptop. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13837/? 216

That's not even how it went down either, the smallpox epidemic is what wiped out up to 95% of the population before European settlers ever reach most places. The Natives the settlers ran into were already scattered remnants. 220

I'm well aware that there's bad mods (I think they're all bad), but the fact that you can improve the game with mods is still one of those no-brainer things. So when someone says, "I think the game is better with mods," it's like... Yeah. Duh. I think when people say that what they really mean is "I think the game is shitty without mods." 224

Serious / Re: Bongistani cops shit themselves over a teenager with an air gun« on: December 12, 2014, 01:29:58 PM »It's quite a gamble, I'll give you that. If you shoot, you definitely kill a person and might have saved others. If you don't shoot you don't kill a person but might endanger others. It's a loose-loose situation.Which brings to my point many responses back, what if he opened fire and a bystander in their house was struck? What if the pellet gun had been a real gun and a person was hit? The department would be held accountable. A situation where an armed person is outside in a populated area is different than a person in their home with nobody around. In certain situations, things have to be taken to action in a swift manner to prevent unnecessary collateral damageBut how do you know for certain this person is a nutcase? 227
Serious / Re: Bongistani cops shit themselves over a teenager with an air gun« on: December 12, 2014, 01:20:52 PM »But how do you know for certain this person is a nutcase? We don't know either way, which is why it's worthwhile to actually find out before just gunning him down on sight. Besides, many would argue that it is more unlikely that someone pointing a gun at people would not have some kind of mental issues. 228
Serious / Re: Bongistani cops shit themselves over a teenager with an air gun« on: December 12, 2014, 01:11:03 PM »You're not my parent or any authority figure, what you say has no legal effect and is just a simple opinion. Government says threatening is wrong, there doesn't need to be 52 page essay explaining why, simply don't do itI get the whole lack of emotions, but they have been told what's right and what's wrong. So it's only morally wrong if there is a law against it? What if someone doesn't recognize the government as their authority figure (like many psychopaths)? 229

They may have been told it is wrong and be aware that others think it is wrong, but since they lack emotions like empathy they're going to have a hard time understanding why it is wrong. 232

Serious / Re: A Physical Theory of Life« on: December 09, 2014, 11:50:31 AM »I'm just guessing here, but I don't see how there's any pull, other than the "force" of evolution, that draws matter to assemble and disperse energy, Evolution is not a force, it's only the end result of selection. As for your "pull," it's a well known fact that reactions that release energy are highly favored, meaning they happen spontaneously when certain requirements are met, and that systems as a whole tend to increase in entropy. Physicists don't know the exact reason for this, but it's and observed fact and the universe might not even exist as it is if it weren't true. 239
