People should literally just stop buying consoles and buy desktops they can upgrade as the years go by.
It would probably save them money, given how they're throwing £300-400 every couple of years at a platform which won't have the potential of a PC. And, I mean, what the fuck? It's not even a new console. It's just a fucking hardware upgrade which isn't going to be supported by many console games at all. 845
Serious / Re: Could someone explain to me what the Chicago school of economics is?« on: September 13, 2016, 07:01:49 AM »
The Chicago School is a broad term encompassing various economists and 'camps' of thought, with the most prominent probably being Milton Friedman and orthodox monetarism which arose in challenge to Keynesianism during the 1970s. It was also home to people like Bob Lucas, considered the father of New Classical Macroeconomics, and Edward C. Prescott of Real Business Cycle fame. In reality, the distinctions between the schools have largely gone away since the 1990s, and the profession is for the most part no longer split up into opposing schools.
- Monetarism - New Classical I; New Classical II - Real Business Cycle Woodford has a nice history of thought paper. 846

Morally, the man is pretty much in the clear.
Whether he should be legally is another question, and the answer is he should probably face some consequences. 857

Haven't they done enough?
Quote Microsoft recently posted a brand-new blog post regarding the upcoming Windows 10 update which will launch this Aug. 2. Among the updates, it has been stated that every game Microsoft published from that point on will use the Xbox Play Anywhere platform, guaranteeing upcoming games like "Halo 6" will be on both the PC and the Xbox One. 859

Serious / Re: On 9/11, Trump was bragging about now having the biggest building in Manhatten« on: September 11, 2016, 11:52:26 AM »The interviewer calls it a landmark building and asks Trump to comment about it. Comparing its most relevant feature -- height -- to the WTC towers is reasonable, and he goes on in the interview to talk at length about the design of the towers, specifically their height vs support columns. I'm sure at the time building owners were extremely concerned about which buildings were next potential targets; it hardly felt like a brag at all, and he doesn't say anything like that for the rest of the interview.I get where you're coming from, man, I do; and maybe I'm just reading too much into his comment, but even listening to the audio it just seems crass and insensitive to me. I'm not saying the article is 100% correct, and I tend to the think the media does a pretty good job of misrepresenting what Trump actually says to try and make him look more deplorable, but from here his response seemed inappropriate. When asked about it he says "It's an amazing thing" and "It was an amazing phone call" when talking about how it's the tallest; I can see how it now being the tallest would be a relevant concern immediately following the attacks, but I find the way he spoke about the issue rather odious. But that's obviously entirely subjective. If you disagree with me, I respect that, but at best I feel like he was being negligent of the way he spoke. 867

And now it’s the tallest.” Assassination when? |
