I've already pointed out the main flaw: people are suffering for the sake of first world excess.

But who the fuck am I kidding, you'll just respond with the same bullshit about how they're lucky to be employed at all and look at how much their GDP is growing, or whatever. This is a system that treats human beings like expendable resources, you can recognize that or live your life in denial.

Or we could just wait another year and you'll probably come back around and agree with me again.
Yes but you're saying they shouldn't be employed at all. That's the implication of your opinion.

The consequence of exploitation is death and poverty.

They will never be allowed to develop anything close to a first world economy, because the ownership class that bribes their imperialist puppet governments don't want to lose their favourite source of cheap labour.

Paul Krugman is apologizing for imperialism, he's our own modern version of Ruyard Kipling.
I'm literally lost for words - it's like you're in your own little world. If you want to be serious about it, actually find the flaw in Krugman's logic. Find the empirical anomaly. Stop repeating left-wing reactionary dogma and expecting me to think it means something.

Apologizing for exploitation is always going to sound stupid, regardless of the source.

Chomsky at least uses his position to try and nudge people towards genuine change.
Consequence always outweighs intentions when it comes to economics.

They may be being exploited, but they're better off for it. Low wages is the only thing they can offer capitalists, since they don't have the institutions or infrastructure to support a developed economy.

They should add one more thing to the legend, a greedy Jewish smiley face buttfucking another greedy smiley face, to more accurately represent the relationship between America and Israel.
Shouldn't it be a greedy Israeli face?

I've heard the same basic argument before.

Paul knows what side his bread is buttered on.
Jesus Christ.

As if Noam Chomsky writing it would make it any more meaningful.

Is that worse than regular stupid?
Yeah, regular stupid would read it and then try to deny its validity, rather than base its worth on the author.

Well of course Paul Krugman would right that, he's built a career out of defending capitalism.
What a fucking stupid thing to say.

Yes, I'm sure they love working over 80 hours for less than a dollar per hour. They should be grateful that they aren't unemployed.

Freedom is slavery, etc.
Sigh, just read this.

Look at the working conditions people endure in third world countries. Look at how many of them work for western corporations.

The labour movement of the early 20th century was a threat to the establishment, so we got the welfare state to pacify us.

That's the only reason we enjoy decent living conditions, because the capitalist class can't get away with the shit they pull overseas. Liberal democracy is a glorified PR campaign.

That just isn't true. The conditions of labour in third-world countries is overwhelmingly due to collectivist and socialist regimes that have been out-competed by capitalism. Sweatshops are a net positive in comparison to unemployment, and it's no surprise that jobs are highly desired in such nations. China wouldn't have a developing middle-class had it not integrated itself into the market, and just consider the poverty Soviet Russia was enduring, and Africa was enduring during the 70s and 80s due to their anti-capitalist policies.

I've no doubt companies are using those places as a cheap source of labour, of course, but the impact is negligible. Africa has seen welcome growth since the 90s, and investment there - mainly from China, in fact - is going to improve both production and working conditions as capitalism develop there.

More wealth for the upper class, for everyone else things stay more or less the same.
Are you just ignoring everything I say?

If that were true, living standards would be Victorian.

But they aren't, because enabling production makes everybody wealthier.

(For some people).
No, supply-side just works.

More production = more wealth.

If somebody, because the market is open, makes a robot that mows your lawn for you then everybody who buys that robot is wealthier.

She might be cheating on you. That, or the reality of raising a child has hit her and she thought it would be easy.

The kid's adopted, right? It might be she doesn't want an adopted kid.
As I understand it, Mrs. Charlie is incapable of having children.

Not much choice, there.

If you guys just give me all your money I'll let it trickle down.
At least supply-side works.

He who controls the media controls elections.

Unless you outlaw advertising and privately-owned media outlets, that's not going to change any time soon.

Hell, even publicly owned news networks are partially dependent on advertising money, just look at the CBC.
I didn't say otherwise.

The point is to structure government in such a way as to remove the incentive for trying to determine the outcome of an election.
