Are people seriously hating on FDR? What the fuck is this shit.
New Deal was largely unnecessary.
I'm no expect on the Depression, but the general consensus is that the government royally, royally bollocksed it.
The only thing the New Deal managed to get done was increase the national debt. It was WWII that ended it
That's not true. Wars can't create prosperity because, by definition, they only destroy. The economy only settled back properly around 1947, when it was freed up following the war.

Well. you're in no position to call him a fascist when you support the militarisation of the police. You're also in position to claim to be right-wing economically, when you support high businesses taxes and protectionist measures.

>be me >at humanities cluster with mates >having a decent time, some chatting some laughing while we work >teacher comes out >what're you working on he asks >politics I say >health and social, one of my mates says >what're you doing here then, he asks, go to where you should be >I laugh at my friend's face >what're you laughing at, he asks >just her, sir, it isn't you I answer >no what're you laughing at >just her >right, he says to my friend, I'll let you work here if you're quiet >you, he turns to me, >yes sir? >you're going to live with your auntie and uncle in bel air Spoiler No, he actually kicked me off the cluster and told me I didn't have the right attitude. Fucking puritans.

Aren't you in university?
No. I'm in college.
there's a difference?
Colleges are the physical campuses of a university. The educational state of college is an intermediary stage between high school and university. One is a location, the other is a process.

The internet is making me want to convert to this.
Muh special snowflake indecision centrist stance :^)
It's not even that. Apatheism is literally just lazy atheism.
No stance = stance
Flawless logic.
Are you an idiot? That's what atheism is, the lack of a stance. It's a negative belief. Anybody who doesn't actively believe in the existence of a deity is an atheist, no matter how they want to phrase it.

I'm almost certain the Abrahamic God doesn't exist.
I'm absolutely certain there's no reason to believe in any other sort of god, either.
I'm again almost certain that if a god did exist, he wouldn't be worthy of worship.

Spoiler The Great Depression, and World War II would like a word with you.
Again, all of that fiscal stimulus did fuck all for the Depression. Fiscal policies are terrible at stabilising/reviving aggregate demand.

FDR was pretty good.
I almost made my worst a four way tie because of him. He is terrible in the fact that he increased the size of the government way too much. Not to mention he made one of the most broken welfare systems in the world.
Just forget about the fact that he ended the Depression, created tens of thousands of jobs, and led us through the deadliest war in European history, right?
lol He prolonged the Depression with his shit policies.

Yes, most cultures and groups have their own beliefs on deities and/or afterlife, but I'm talking specifically about the Christian God.
If we're talking specifically about the Abrahamic God, then yes I agree. If we're assuming the Bible was never written, a very similar God would've likely developed in its stead. If the Bible were erased from history now, no other similar God would likely be invented.

People should not take the Bible literally for a multitude of reasons.
But then wouldn't people stop believing in God?
Yeah, no
You don't need to conform your beliefs by reading a book. All you need to do to be Christian is to accept God and Jesus Christ as your savior, along with being a decent person and not purposely do bad things. I don't read the Bible, I don't go to church, and I don't pray as much but I know I'm still a Christian. All that stuff is just extra people think they need to do
People wouldn't think God existed if the Bible didn't say so.
I have to disagree with you there.

True. Religious people tend to make "better" citizens. Just replace religion with culture. There you go.

The Bible makes NO mention that the earth is between 6,000-10,000 years old and people who believe it are complete idiots. People should not take the Bible literally for a multitude of reasons. Namely is that it's gone through multiple translations and changes, it's based on oral stories passed down, and written by humans and used only what they had knowledge of at the time
People should take the Bible seriously, let alone literally.

How do people pay with cards at nice restaurants then? Y'know, not places where you swipe your own card like a neanderthal?
You go up, order your food, put your card into the reader, key in your PIN number, remove your card, go sit down and wait for your meal.
No, I'm talking about places where you don't run your own card. Where a server gives you your bill and you place your payment in it. I'm not talking about McDonalds. Places without an ordering counter and shit. Surely those exist outside of America...
They're rare.
