Honestly, in the face of ISIS, I'm perfectly fine with Assad staying in power.
Hell, I was perfectly fine with Assad staying in power in the face of the FSA.

The thing is, I'm totally with you on this argument, but to say that "gender" isn't a mere contrivance and is the same thing as sex is a sign of intellectual bankruptcy. How can we discuss this if you're going to just bend words to your own will?
Whatever, now we're just arguing semantics. We're deviating from the original question, to which the answer is yes. Gender dysphoria. the reason people are transgenders, is a certified mental disorder. That's what people seem to be ignoring.
I'd argue you're confusing causality. Transgenderism causes the dysphoria.
Transgenderism is when you change your sex. The desire to change your sex is a result of the dysphoria.
The discrepancy in how you identify causes dysphoric emotions.

It can work both ways, and I have no idea how you could empirically verify either position.

I think I've reached my own opinion on the matter.

Transgenderism isn't, in and of itself, a mental disorder. It cannot be called a mental disorder to identify as another gender. It just so happens, however, that transgenderism always coincides with gender dysphoria, which is a mental disorder. It would seem, consequentially, there isn't much in it.

Going by proper delineation of what constitutes a mental disorder, yes, I would argue that even homosexuality is a mental disorder.

But that doesn't make it bad, wrong, "lesser", or more disgusting than any other sexual orientation/gender identification (indeed, I think they're all equally useless and disgusting).

It just means something went awry during the whole genetic makeup process, or something like that. I'm not a neuroscientist. Overall, it's entirely inconsequential and a complete non-issue to anyone of rational tutelage.
This is essentially the line I try to take.

Although, it's heavily dependent on how you define "disorder".

The DSM-5 is a joke.
Why?
Oh God. It's hard to explain if you're not into psychology; Mr P would probably do a better job.

It's just. . . Just a fucking mess, to be honest.

Why even bother posting in Serious about a serious topic if you're just going to dismiss arguments?

Is there another prevailing argument that doesn't align with the APA, but supported by research?
I'm not dismissing his argument, I'm criticising his source. The DSM-5 is a joke.

I agree with the notion that transgendered identity isn't a disorder.

Think about what? Gender and sex are two completely different things, there is not really anything to discuss. If you think otherwise, you are a fucking idiot and the human race would be better off without you.
sigh

Can you just briefly explain why you think it isn't?

You are the psychological authority here, after all.

Human life has no intrinsic value.

Well, the jump from "do you put" to "intrinsic" is quite a big one...
I know. It just seems like a philosophical point big enough to bridge the gap.

What? No.

The negative value of stupidity and narcissism is, itself, subjective.

People honestly think anarchism would work?

Really?

No.

Quote
can't help but see the flaws in that line of thought, the biggest one being that corporations, while initially voluntary, could theoretically create quasi-nation-states that bring about their own form of oppression.  The only way I could see an anarchist society truly working is if everyone adhered to the non-aggression principle, and had a shared system of morals.

His "value" is on the same scale of stupidity as CoD
So?
I'm showing how low his value is and the people that actually respect him for his stupid shit are low also
Well. . . no.

If we're determining value by money (which we are), then a dollar is a dollar.

Because he creates value for other people.

Kanye West has never been one to engage his brain before speaking and the rapper was at it again when he halted a performance and demanded everyone in the audience stand up and dance – even though two fans were in wheelchairs.

The star stopped the show in Sydney on Friday night and demanded that every member of the audience got up and danced.

Kanye told the crowd: “I can't do this show until everybody stand up. Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and s**t.”

While most stood up, Kanye spotted two people still seated and called on them to get to their feet, refusing to carry on with the show.

It was only when one fan waved her prosthetic limb in the air that the rapper realised his mistake and quickly said "Okay, you fine."

He then focused his attention on the second fan, who was in a wheelchair, and refused to continue with his song "Good Life" until it was confirmed the man could not stand.

The results are meant to be taken as an aggregate to reach a single conclusion, not to compare each foundation individually. I suppose there's no particular downside to it.

How is it impossible? Never mind, I see. Like I say, it's merely to get an aggregate picture. I can't help the similarities between liberal and libertarian morality in a certain foundation.
