Dammit Mr. P.

For once I owned him and you had to edit it out. -_-

I read it, and enjoyed it.

But unfortunately I can't have another thread turn into a flame war.
>Implying this thread isn't already full of passive aggressive flaming towards Zesty.
>Implying that this thread isn't already a flame war that the mods are allowing because it's zesty getting roasted.

This isn't a flamewar, it's an argument.
If it turns into a flamewar, it gets shut down.

This isn't daycare where no squabbles are allowed you know.
If it were literally ANYONE else, this thread would already be locked, you KNOW this. The pink bar apparently gets the special privilege of being able to attack anyone because of family relations, and have no repercussions.

4chan

Didn't they censor Gamer Gate conversations?  What was that all about?

If deciding that #GG doesnt exactly have a proper board it falls into and saying that it should move offsite is "censorship". The people who are saying 4chan is dead are grossly exaggerating. The place hasn't really changed at all and if anything it actually improved both 4chan and #GG.

A good chunk of the sperglords seem to have  left with the #GG crew and now that #GG is no longer associated with 4chan its image has improved quite a bit.

I actually think moot made the right decision on that one.

What was the whole issue with Gamer Gate exactly?  Wasn't it related to gaming journalists and devs sleeping with one another for perks and conflicts of interest?  The whole issue has just become a mess of conflicting opinions and accusations it seems.
Gamers found out that there were both romantic and monetary relationships between journalists (Zoe Quinn) then the jounalists had a hissy fit and called their biggest viewers, the gamers, a "Dead" group. They then started censoring people and the SJWs started attacking any and all gamers as soon as they bring up a discussion. #GG is created, claiming the gamers, who are fighting against corruption in the industry, are misogynistic for doing so. SJW in full force, NeoGaf bans all discussion, Moot BANS GG discussion on a forum built upon being able to say whatever the fuck you want. this pisses people off, they do a bit of mining and find out that moot is a SJW fag. Gamers then find out about the mailing list that Journalists use to collaborate on articles and to push agendas.

Anything specific for the emblem? because I think I may be able to pull something together for both the intro and the emblem if you give me specifics.

Something that keeps my emblem and Brute Reviews name. But put a good spin on it. Go ape shit!

News / Retro Game Review- Super Mario 64
« on: October 23, 2014, 02:07:11 PM »

Hoo Boy, now we're into the 3D era of Mario... and not the nice 3D... the awkward looking stuff.  (don't worry about the side games I miss, they'll be dealt with later) So, does Mario 64 stand the test of time, or was all the praise just for the technical breakthroughs it made? Let's find out.

Story-

Spoiler
Mario is on his way to peach's castle, for some "cake" if you know what I mean, when bowser decides to cake-block mario and take over the castle! he then takes the power stars used to power the castle and hides them in magic paintings. you must collect as many as you can while warping to strange lands in paintings in order to save the princess and reclaim the cake you deserve!

Gameplay
Spoiler
So! Mario's first 3D adventure! he is of his standard fare, with the ability to jump and run like he did in any other platformer, but in this game he has access to a plethora of skills to pay the bills. First off would be the ground pound, where he flips in the air, and then uses his fat ass to murder whatever's under him. Next would be his ability to triple jump, and long jump, the long jump is done by crouching and jumping at the same time while moving, to extend the length of his jump. the triple jump is used to access high areas, and can be quicklly done by flicking the analog stick in the opposite direction while jumping.
Mario can also preform a wall jump. these moves are essential to gameplay, and are all accessible from the start, which really is quite nice and gives you plenty of time to master each move.

The caps on the other hand, like the wing cap and metal cap, are extremely situational, and not even remotely useful as the fire flower and other staples of the franchise, sadly they're the only power ups in the game, and they are only used once or twice in the whole game. all in all the power ups are lacking, and the gameplay is simple compared to the previous instalments.

Now for the fun bit, level design and progression
Spoiler
Mario 64 has a total of 120 power stars, spanning 15 levels, and 15 stars hidden in the castle and bowser levels. there may be a lot of power stars, but there's only 15 actual levels to critique, which, by a numbers standpoint, is a massive downgrade compared to it's predecessors. Mario 3 had a total of 90 levels, and Mario World had 96 exits to find across 72 levels. Each level is held to a certain theme, you have the "green hill" known as bomb omb battle field, the water level/pirate level known as jolly roger bay, the fire level, the sky level, the ghost level, they're all open world, and you can complete any star in any order so long as you know what you're doing, something certain OTHER mario titles should learn from (looking at you Sunshine.) All in all the open world aspect does solve the problems of the small amount of levels this game has, but the fact you need to see each level 6 TIMES in order to 100% the game is a little annoying, and stale.

Enemies
Spoiler
Alright, The enemy palette is quite diverse in 64, but said enemies are restricted to certain worlds, but the Mini bosses of each world make up for it quite easily, each mini boss only takes 2-3 hits, but each one has a little gimmick, like King bomb-omb needs to be thrown, while the Whomp king needs to be ground-pounded to death. The bowser fights are piss easy, and really a complete joke save for the final encounter, because you can just get to his tail before he even has a chance to get back up after being thrown 2 feet, you can just do that until he hits a spike ball and takes damage. all in all the enemy cast is diverse, and interesting, but it completely pails in comparison to 3, and World.

Graphics, and sound
Spoiler
this is the era where we were just learning how to 3D in the gaming industry, so there's a little leeway with the graphics, they efficiently get the message they want to get across, but the models are extremely polygonal, and simple.
Sound on the other hand is perfect, the sound chip in the n64 sings a golden tune in Mario 64, with music like Bomb Omb Battlefield, you can't NOT tap your feet to the rhythm as you play, The only real downside is that the extremely ambient tunes in certain levels are forgettable, like Jolly Roger Bay's theme.

Overall
Spoiler
An overall score of 6/10, the game is solid, and quite fun once you get things down, but the game is stale, you only have 15 different motifs in the game. and each one is limited to one level. the game gets stale quick, and should be played in moderation. IF you want to play 64. the music is good, but the graphics are that of the awkward PSX days. While this game WAS a technological breakthrough, and fun to just speed run once in a while, I'd just say emulate it rather than shell out the $ for it.

1400
Because in the entire history of the human race, we've managed to beat technological progress before, right?

Don't be a luddite; this is ultimately for the better. The much better for that matter. The abolition of the minimum wage is merely a stepping-stone between here and there. It's happening, and I don't want it stopped either.
and then people are paid 5 dollars an hour, and poverty skyrockets. the greedy fags at the top get richer, and then a fucking civil war breaks out in the US. I don't know about you, but I don't wanna see a civil war, and the destruction of progress happen,

1401

I strongly disagree, you know what we should do? ban the autonomy, and enforce a minimum amount of employees, based on the net profits that said company has. the greedy sons of bitches need to be taken down a notch.

I'm basing it all on your shitposting, and retarded spiels on how the constitution is a fracking godly text. I also base it on all the threads where you go "HURR DURR CANABUS IS A MAGICAL HEALIN DRUG THAT SOLVES ALL PROBLEMS." That's the basis. also, humour me for a second, can you tell me what jobs you were working? and how exactly do you live off the land?

Must be your delusions, as I've never posted fecal matter here. The only retardation appears to be your own for making false assumptions. The Constitution is a great text that acknowledges our natural rights and freedoms, sorry you don't understand it. Cannabis is very healthy and beneficial, even curing cancer, you have a problem with me stating facts? I've had MANY jobs. Dishwasher, construction, renovation, property management, security, armed security and now I have two setups in the woods where I grow all the food I need. Hopefully that clears up your preconceptions.
The constitution is something I don't exactly live by, and I find it foolish to do so, as the ideas are extremely archaic in my eyes. Weed is healthy in some cases, but taking it when you don't need it is, again, foolish in my eyes. I know people who blaze it every day, and they're living in tiny shacks living from day to day with barely enough to scrape by. that is my basis for all pot smokers. your job history is impressive, but it's all low level grunt work, it may net you a job quickly, but it will also decrease your chances of keeping that job. no manager likes an employee with a known history of bouncing from one job to the next.

your set up does sound interesting though, is it literally just to shacks in the middle of the woods where you just grow plants and have a house somewhere else? or is one of them your home?

Good for you, assuming it's true. You're a loser for going on a game forum and calling other people loser's without basis. I've always had good jobs, enough money and everything I could ask for, and now I don't need a job because I can love off of the land and provide for myself. Many people couldn't survive doing that, and I feel so invigorated. I never have to rely on others again.

a pot smoking loser is trying to educate people on working hard, what next, a raging alcoholic educating us on moderation?

The only loser is yourself. I only using cannabis in moderation, so you prove yourself wrong already.
if you really want to talk success, I'll bite, I make 75-150k in a year, and my wife, whom I love to the ends of time, is hitting 200k with her job, I have a nice house, my dream cars, and I'm doing a job I love to bits. how am I a loser? Please tell me, I'm genuinely curious.

If you can't find a job in five months then you have a very low chance. I had jobs when I was 14 and never spent more than a month combined without a job since I was 18. You can get over your obsession now. You'll never make as much as I have, squirt. No one cares about college anymore, why hasn't it gotten you a job? My jobs never drug tested me, but even if they did they are easy to get around if you have common sense. If you healed your mind with cannabis you might have some one day. Cannabis is far more safe and beneficial than "legal" substances. You're drinking too much soda.I made above minimum wage starting with my second job, and now I don't have to work at all other than for myself on my garden. You'll never have the ability to work as hard as I do. Nice false assumptions, though.

Dude, Camnator stepped over a line you shouldn't cross, ESPECIALLY with what charlie's going through. And then you make additions, a 2nd floor perhaps? a nice balcony made from the top of the RV? the possibilities are limitless, and with enough time, and good management of the interior, you could have a bitchin house out of that RV and a shed... but it's still technically a shed.
