I used to be in a clan like that. It was actually pretty fun, especially when you went to war with other clans and invaded their bases and shit.

The Flood / Re: University Choices Dilemma (Britbongistan)« on: December 06, 2014, 04:14:25 PM »Southampton is pretty competitive. Not sure if it would be overbooked but I imagine they would get a lot of applicants. I agree that leniency would mean around AABB which is what I achieved at AS and I'm pretty sure I can get this year. I do think I can get A*A*BB which may be enough to let me in, although they don't do things on UCAS points.I imagine it will be AAB if they are giving you liniency, which is the same a Kings. The only time where they wouldn't allow liniency is if the course is fully/over booked. In which case you'd need the AAA.In terms of Southampton, you need to get a definite statement in terms of being able to drop grades, and what exactly is the lowest you can get with them. Not sure, they've apparently had a history of letting people in with lower grades. Also I asked them about it on the applicant day and they said because I do four subjects there will be some leniency, and that a few put them as an insurance because of that. Still quite a risky decision though. 8691

I[Sec^2(4x+1)]dx ; u=4x+1 du=4dx
I[1/4Sec^2(u)]du = 1/4(tan(u)) + c sub back in your u=4x+1 =(1/4)*(tan(4x+1)) + c sec^2(x) doesn't integrate to tan^2(x) + 1. You might be thinking of tan^2(x) + 1 = sec^2(x) EDIT: also dont forget your +c 8697
The Flood / University Choices Dilemma (Britbongistan)« on: December 06, 2014, 03:34:49 PM »
So a couple weeks ago I received my fifth and final Uni offer (subject - Computer Science), which means I have to now make a choice in what to firm (One I MOST want to go to) and what to put as my insurance (Backup choice in case I don't get the grades for my firm).
Offers: Bristol - AAA Bath - A*AB Southampton - AAA Surrey - AAA Kings College London - AAB I've narrowed this down to Bristol, Southampton and Kings. Bristol has stuck as a near-definite firm for a long time now, however when I went to Southampton I loved it as much as Bristol, so these two are competing for firm choice, with Bristol being more likely. And then Kings is the potential insurance as that's the lowest offer. So I have a couple options. I could go with Bristol or Southampton as a firm and Kings as the insurance. However, Southampton have said that if you're doing 4 subjects like me they may allow you to drop a grade or two and still let you in, particularly if you're like me and you're doing 4 A2s. Not sure if that's entirely true, but it's made me consider putting Bristol as my firm and take a risk putting Southampton as my insurance. That way if I don't make it to Bristol I could still get a place at another university I really want to go to. I'm having a hard time deciding whether to risk it though. Anyone have any advice on this shit? 8698
