Does anyone else find the bayonet charge absolutely useless?
They nerfed it bad.
I spent entire games in the beta just charging people.
But there are games now where I bounce off people even after hitting them head on with the bayonet.

Didn't get a clip of it, but I charged straight through a cluster of three people yesterday and pinged between their hitboxes, total horseshit.

An accurate representation of Psy leading the JSDF to death glorious victory against the Motherland's enemies on St. Quentin's Scar.

In terms of the story, it only opens up in the last portion of the game. The trope "hero going to kill the bad dragon" is the main hook the plot gives you until the big reveals near the end.
Until then, the NPCs are bland and the only reason people find them memorable is because of pieces of dialogue they spout. The only compelling characters are found later on in the game as it ties up, or in the DLC and not only that, but they are compelling because they tie into your experiences as a player of the game alongside story reasons.
Anyone saying it's boring really just didn't give it enough time. And while I do agree that having to complete a game is a bad standard to being able to say if you liked it or not, but the way this game is set up you can't go about it any other way.

Combat is only boring if you let it be.
There are nine classes with three focuses of sword and shield, bow and dagger and sorcery. You say you saw someone spamming arrows, which was probably because they were at a stage where closing with enemies at a low level as an archer will severely fuck them up, or because they have the kickass ability to fire ten arrows at once which decimates shit like nothing else in the game.
I think it's Jaz saying that sword and shield is very basic, but later in the game when you get all sorts of flourishes and combos, it becomes one of the most satisfying ways to play.
The bosses aren't terribly varied, you will start noticing trends after a while, but they're different enough and the AI reacts differently enough to stay interesting to fight throughout multiple playthroughs.

Character customisation is fantastically detailed and you can even create you own companion with the same tool.
Not mentioning the soundtrack would be a disservice, but it's something you'd have to listen to yourself.

It's incredibly telling of the game and it's quality when the only people saying they loved it are the ones who saw it through to completion, no one has gone "I've finished it and I still don't like it". And even at that, the reason it got so slated in the reviews was because of an issue with travel time that gets drastically fixed with the Dark Arisen DLC. I might add that the DLC includes a massive new area with new equipment, music and increases the difficulty.
In short, if you liked anything from Skyrim to Dark Souls, you should do yourself a favour and play it.
Maybe you will be underwhelmed. Maybe you won't. The game has jank and snippets of problems, but it's an unforgettable gem if you get around to enjoying it.

I like how the post-game stopped appearing once I started getting good and wanted to see my scores.

10/10 not enough water.

-Medics need more UI functions, some things kill people outright as opposed to dead-but-revivable
-Bodies disappearing before the counter is out and bodies getting fucked into terrain and objects also needs a fix
-Consistency between melee with a bayonet and melee with your weapon needs a massive fix. Why can I be interupted in a bayonet kill but nothing can touch me until I finish the regular melee-finish animation?
-Bayonets need some sort of lock on or increased hitboxes
-On bayonets, why can I sprint after a kill with one yet if I cancel the charge I'm left out of breath?
-There needs to be some sort of spawn protection if they leave spawning the way it is, constantly spawning on a teammate getting ganked isn't a fun process.
-Needs to be a timer on spawns too. Having no indication of that is irritating when you think you can spawn, but spamming A does nothing.
-What the fuck are menus Dice?
-People who aren't anti-tank need a second grenade. Light tanks are OP with the speed they have, pissing at them with one grenade they can shake off or avoid isn't good enough.
-Terrian interaction needs a rework. From bouncing off rocks, to not being able to climb knee high rocks even when the animation plays, to not being able to crawl over bumps in sand, the amount of problems I've come across with terrain is ridiculous.
-There needs to be a progress bar for unlocking stuff, I've played a shit ton of the recon class since the insider started and I barely reached level 1. Same with assault and it's frustrating to not have what seems like the basic equipment locked away behind an invisible wall.

I've forgotten a load of stuff I wanted to bring up, but honestly, this game with polish will be fun as hell. It is fun as hell right now.
But there are so many obvious problems that if they carry over into the final product, it will be an incrdible let down.

You should start making plans about incepting this

If there's someone you want, contact them. We can fill in spots with randoms if no more will join.
Alright.

How about this for a start, anyone up for it say so clearly in case there are any misunderstandings.

Ok let me know and I'll buy it

Also let me know if it's 1 or 2
It'll be 2 for the gamenight, but if you want to get 1 as well just to play, that's fine too.
Both of them should be pretty cheap at this stage.

The in-game chat works crossplatform, if parties don't.
Ok cool

So how many people is this so far?
Well, assuming Naru gets XBL again soon, I'm counting about 6.
You and Desty have shown interest and then I know Psy and Yu have it as well.

Can 360 people cross play with Xboners?
yes
Ok I might buy it if we can get enough people together.
Hell, if anyone has both/either of the games and is just up to play them, hit me up.

So, since both L4D games are backwards compatible on the Boner now, I was thinking that we should group up and play some.

Preferably, I'd like the full 8 players for versus mode, however I'll just test the waters with a thread first and see if there's enough interest in the game for anything to happen.
