Sweden anounces a meeting to be held with all players at http://www.e-chat.co/room/85069 to discuss some things

                                   State of Sweden update:
Military size: 100,000 soldiers (some trained in strategic formations, others just basic training)
Scattered around Sweden and Norway in training camps

Infrastructural assets:Mining iron ore in mining towns (Kiruna, Malmberget) with about 200 kg of ore per day
-Trading efficiently with most countries near the baltic sea, Ireland (or scotland?), England, Africa.

Countries taken: Denmark, Finland

Countries basically owned: Norway

Achievments: Better iron, Agency, better agriculture (cradle, poop), largest army?
Food:
Fish, potatoes, crops (oats etc)
Trend where you eat food in a specific order

Taxes are at 30%
Please explain to me how you got 100,000 soldiers. You don't even have any conscription/annexation going on. Most countries have less than 50,000 at this point.
What are you talking about? I have influence over four countries.
I own Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and I've helped build up Norway to the point where they're dependent on me.

I rallied up troops from these countries, trained them for a year (basic training), and so I got 100,000 soldiers.
So? Did you ever say "training 100,000 soldiers, expected to be complete by turn X?" I'm getting tired of your godmodding. I've already explained to you very clearly that you can't just give yourself ludicrous advantages and then pull some flimsy explanation out of your ass. You need to actually announce what you're doing.

And training 100,000 soldiers in a year is not reasonable, anyway.

What the fuck is there to train? it's basic hack and slash, as well as formations. I'm not teaching them history, or strategic maneuvers.

Fine whatever, Sweden wants Mongolia's assistance in taking Russia.

70,000 troops are ready to attack, and the strategy is to head for the capital and take it.

Mongolia's role is to come from behind to regroup in the middle once Moscow is taken, to launch attacks to internal forces. Once wiped out we will together move on to take the middle east and then Africa, then Italy.

requesting about 30,000 troops from your side.

It's a big fucking task, but here's how it'll look(image coming soon):

We take the countries in a common name, but once we're done we split those countries. Russia will be split between us two even though I will basically take it myself.

Secondclass, do you accept?

Umm, coal? Does the world have that kind of technology yet?

Well, you don't "invent" coal, you discover it. To get iron from the Bloomery method as Meta has briefly mentioned, you need charcoal (slow burnt/smouldered wood) to reach the high temperatures, and later coal was realised in China an the UK as a usable component for fuel to smelt Iron, and later Steel. (America has poor quality coals, producing shit quality steels...you'd need a Bessemer Converter to use American coal to produce any decent metal).

When checking where I'd actually get Iron from Ireland (if at all), I checked this, and coal is conveniently found nearby.

If this is a problem I can dial it back on the coal, but bear in mind when we get to that stage I'm calling out on certain countries for their poor coal deposits unless England develops a Bessemer converter ~800 years ahead of actual time.

Palestine constructs a wall around Jerusalem. Finished by page 11
I thought you were Israel?
I was just poking a hole in you to see what you were made of.

You were made of good stuff.

Sweden builds mills around water streams to help agriculture, and also accepts Ireland into its (social) circles.

Sweden shares its knowledge with IRELAND for their knowledge. The Cradle for the poop method.

Ireland agrees, Dan begins sharing the blueprints *hurriedly scribbles on the back of a beer mat*.

He has a glance at all of Sweden's metallurgy and mining techniques, and is in awe. Of course to keep up appearances to his loyal subjects, he laughs it off as what he was gonna do anyway. Monthly shipments of cow shit and wheat grains are sent to Sweden (stored separately, of course...>_>) in return for a boatload of scythes, which will also be incorporated into the military. He sends ahead a messenger to England to ask for safe passage of said shipments through the North Atlantic, though for now just to get the ball rolling with Sweden Dan sends a 25 army longships for protection until a response is received.

Dan announces his opening of the first Coal and Iron mines on the Connacht/Ulster border to boost efficiency, with iron mongering soon to follow. With advanced agricultural methods passed on by the Swedes, which means more support for his growing population. Once he gets around to counting them, he'll consider growing his army a bit, as his current lot are getting a bit on now.

News arrives from crazy St. Brendan that he has found his own island, rather than the New World. He drops a few of his friends off to lay claim to this relatively pointless place, and is continuing his journey after realising he's gone the wrong way. Dan asks Spain permission to run a supply route between Ireland and "St. Brendan's Island" through the Mid-Atlantic, as well as a trade route to the South African continent (as explained below).

Dan is attacked by a homing pigeon on his way home, and realises it's got a message from some place called "Africa" before he was about to use it for his dinner. Not being impolite, he returns the pigeon with a positive reply saying "Yeah that's grand, we got peat 'n' wheat to trade, but I think we're fine for stones thanks" and tries figuring out how to get to this mystical "Africa" and why the rocks are important.

Quote
What's actually going on:
-LEVEL UP: Ability to mine, and forge iron weapons and armour. Coal is now a more efficient fuel resource made available.
-Monthly shipments to Sweden
-Improved agriculture. Food production up, allowing for more trade and population growth
-Friendship extended towards ENGLAND and SPAIN still maintained. New contact with ETHIOPIA.
-Permissions asked to allow trade and supply routes between Ireland and Sweden (ENGLAND), Ireland and Canary Islands, Ireland and South African Continent (SPAIN).
-Ireland now lays claim to the CANARY ISLANDS. By accident.
-Ireland accepts trade agreement with the Ethiopian Empire, once he figures out how to get there.

Stats to keep track of:
-Census in 2 years
-Army growth in 2 years
-Further expansion in 3 years
-Trade Allies with Swedish Empire
 - 100 ships to transport goods monthly, with 50 in reserve to account for any losses due to weather/attack. 25  longships alongside to provide protection, and keep the army busy.
-Trade Allies with Ethiopian Empire
 -Trade deals TBD
-Regions owned: Ireland, Canary Islands.
Umm, coal? Does the world have that kind of technology yet?

Mongolia warns Sweden in advance to not attempt to annex any territory to the east.
That doesn't make any sense. Are we aware of each other? I sent my agency, not the Swedish troops. Do you also have an agency that found out about mine? What's going on here m8?
What? We can still communicate with each other.
So if Sweden develops lasers, and I say that we have done so secretly, does everyone know about it?
No, but we're still aware of your existence. I don't know anything about your country (I'm all the way in Asia) except for the fact that you exist. That warning wasn't in response to anything you did, it was just a general warning.
How did you warn me? Through a message sent by a bird? How do we speak the same language?

The reason why I haven't allied up with you yet is because I don't see how we would at the moment.
You're putting way too much thought into this. Some aspects of realism we abandon so we can have a functional UN game. Unless otherwise stated, we all speak the same language. As for the message, it was delivered on horseback.

New alloy complete. A purified version of iron, this new creation has been dubbed "steel". Only a sample of the material has been produced, but mass-production will soon begin. A steel mill has been commissioned in central China. Expected to be complete by page 12.

8,000 soldiers training (Korea) -- 20%
25,000 soldiers training (China) -- 40%
Sibera/Far East Russia annexation -- 10%
Burma, Vietnam, & Laos annexation -- 10%
Korean port construction -- 15%
Galleon research -- 15%
Steel mill construction -- 0%
Really? Well fuck me, here I've been plotting things realistically such as the food trend that will lead to someone seeing if it is valid, which will lead to the studying of the body, but you're saying that I can just be all like "Sweden researches medicine"? That ruins the fun for me, but whatever.

Sure then, Sweden accepts an alliance, but the terms are discussed through the agency that have now reached asia.

The agency wants both of the nations to swap knowledge. You have a lot of ideas, and I have more efficient usage of iron (I also have metal, but congrats on getting it). I will swap this knowledge if you give me ideas such as boat designs, fighting methods etc.

If you accept I will trade these things:
-Psychology on the fact that a person can be familiar with about 100 people, and a close connection will lead to a better army (Sweden has done this in the past, and won against a bigger force where this system wasn't in action).
-How to make better armour/swords
-The concept of banks (if you don't already have it)

Sweden cuts off the trade of iron and chooses to make swords and armour out of them.

Soldiers are put in training, and food is primarily given to the soldiers.

Sweden would like to make another huge loan from the Crown Bank (We're at 0, I payed back the money already).

Sweden would like England, and all the countries surrounding the baltic sea (Östersjön) to only trade food with Sweden.

Training:
1 leader per 80 men giving a total of 1250 leaders.
These leaders will train their men in basic training, with the exception of the specialized leaders which will give specific training in formations and such to their soldiers.
Training will be done by page 11 (these are already trained men, but now it's some extra training).

Sweden now has cannons
No.
"The first cannons in Europe were probably used in Iberia in the 11th and 12th centuries. It was during this period, the Middle Ages, that cannon became standardized"
"Sweden now has Blacksmithing in universities"
"Sweden now has an agency that deals with intelligence"
Why not? I've been researching that for some years now, and because of the funding that Gustav II Adolf gave, the process was sped up.
This isn't history class, it's a UN game. You have to research gunpowder and cannon technology first. You have to state these things clearly and give actual progress notes. You can't just say "oh a few pages ago I mentioned blacksmiths offhandedly so I have cannons now."

Holy shit, dial it back. No more than two consecutive posts.
Why? It's more realistic this way.

It's not like a country will have every idea present in one post, because that would imply that all of the good ideas came at the same time. I'm representing a country that's full of activity.

I have to take care of other countries, my economy, trading between a lot of countries, having to worry about Germany and England, having to increase my peoples' well-being, and the agency.

My country is one of the most active ones in those terms.

Now imagine all of these parties doing an action at the same time. that's not logical.
Combine it into one post from now on. Don't just keep posting one after another just to speed up time.
Oh, okay.

Progress report now that everything is done: the agency said that they'd have trained people in 3 years, and it's been about 4 years. The agents were spread out through Europe (currently moving east) where they found interesting inventions and things like glass beads, trinkets, and cannons from Spain.

Heads up: When they arrive at China they will report back an invention of a stick that shoots fire, and then I will expand upon that idea.

The only way I can secure a place in the world is by growing more powerful in a military way. My original plan was to grow economically with Meta, but Germany and Spain are threatening to Sweden. One organized attack and we'd be wiped out.

Now that you understand the motives behind why my country is so adamant on advancing, do you accept? I gave an explanation that's logical after all.
No one has cannons at this point in the game. So no, you didn't just "find" the technology in Spain.
Whatever, then I want the most advanced swords and armour in the game.
Then fucking research them. You don't get "the most advanced" technology just by asking for it. It takes time, and a clear statement of exactly what you're researching.
How about this? You tell me what my blacksmiths have been reseraching for all these years, and I'll consider it. So far though, all I can think of is ways of making swords and armour more efficient. They're blacksmiths, what are they going to research?

Edit: I also said that they'd be researching iron and metal, which means that iron can metal will be used more efficiently, and thus better armour and swords.
