People did a lot of computation, then simply added the years of Adam's descendants together to find a date. Plus they used Adam's years lived as well. I don't know if that is totally reliable. Throughout all the translations, could numbers have been changed as well? Probably. Now the Bible says: "And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died." Sure, it says "all the days Adam lived". BUT before the Fall, there was no death. Now it comes down to interpretation: So are these simply the years Adam lived after The Fall? If so, we don't know how many years Adam lived in The Garden of Eden, which means we can't simply "add up" the age of the Earth. So how old is the Earth according to the Bible? I really don't know. But it also doesn't matter. Because here and now is what is important.

Sounds like............Destiny.
None of the things you mentioned are missions in Destiny, which is exactly the point. I kept count and played 7 consecutive Destiny story missions where all I did was go to point A while killing a bunch of enemies followed by a horde mode while my ghost was hacking something. It's tedious, borning and unimaginative.
I'm not saying that Borderlands is the pinnacle of varied game design, but it had you assassinate certain targets, gather items, defend objectives and hunt bosses. It included races, escapes, horde modes, survival, explore, rescue... Compared to all this, Destiny is utterly boring.
Not MISSIONS no, but they can be done.
