News / Re: Project Oversight: Destiny, Part 1

Will Destiny's community be addressed in this project?

Perhaps. I'm currently working on the rough outline of where the next piece is going to go, and there is areas where the community can be discussed.
I feel like the appropriate title for that chapter would be "what class you gon pleh?".
Or "I can't call a massive amount of children a community"

Ew, I've been Catholic for 19 years.
Level your faith, casul.
Baptised at birth? I had to choose to be baptised myself. I'm glad though, that decision shouldn't be made by someone else.

But of course, being Baptised doesn't make you a Christian, nor does attending Church.

Love is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 Kilometers away using an Aretech Sniper Rifle with a Trilite scope. This definition, I am told is subject to interpretation. Obviously, Love is a matter of odds.

Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer still would derive love from it. For me, Love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticule and together achieving a singular purpose against statistically long odds.
Ah HK-47.
I miss that killer robot.

forget the band, buy ableton and massive and become the best christian dubstep artist
My stoner friend who wants to do drums for my single would be like "PRAISE JESUS YO!!!!"

Heck, we could mess around and see what we can do. Probably stop at electronic rock, but you never know. We may hit dub step at some point haha!

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

Lolno. The guy mocks the bible, then quotes it repeatedly in the end of that song.

He didn't do his research apparently.
mocks the bible? How?
Maybe he's just pointing out how needlessly hypocritical some Christians are? I can't really recall a point in the NT where same sex relations were even talked about. It was mentioned in the OT but everything was an excuse to kill someone in that time.
Paul mentions homosexuality in the New Testament once for a fact, not sure if more than that.
wow... Mentioned once for such a huge topic. :/ you'd honestly think that there would have been a lot more teachings on it if they took it seriously. I'm starting to think the rest of the Christian leaders just filled in with their opinions because they think it's gross.
We can try to rationalize it all we want. But we can't erase the fact that Paul said it.

Perhaps he said it once because it wasn't a huge problem at the time, and people didn't need that particular line repeated? Regardless, he spoke out against it. Doesn't mean we aren't supposed to love them though.

I don't agree with the LGBT lifestyle, but do I dislike anyone for it? No. I just wouldn't do it myself.
ive never come across any point in the NT where he said that. Not saying he didnt say it but it still stands that there isn't really enough substance for this to be a teaching of a church. Just because one apostle said so.
Paul isn't just some Apostle, he contributed more to the Bible more than any other.

I'm on mobile so I can't quote it, but its 1 Corinthians 6:9

I'm assuming something significant happened in coordination with that for you to remember the exact date.
Well its the reason I am the way I am today. What I'm doing musically (why I started music in the first place), how I act, my reputation and how others view me, everything.

Christ should define me, and I've made great strides in all these years.

Lolwat. Drop the religion and just do you. I mean you would literally have to change nothing in your lyrics, but your music would not be so.... shallow.
I'm not trying to fulfill a music stereotype. I'll do my own thing musically, but it'll be similar at first.......making your own sound entirely yourself is quite difficult.

Trick poll.

The real answer is: give up.
Clearly you haven't seen that one episode from South Park.
My coworker was like "do you guys REALLY have frankincense records?"

.........no. no we don't. Good episode though haha!

thoughts on the Reddit AMA?
What AMA?
A big AMA by a supposed anonymous Bungie employee who detailed what happened in the company and why Destiny turned shit.
Link?
It's all here. Deej claimed it was fake and just a troll, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was a lie.
I think it's true the way the leaker didn't want to talk about what other people like Joe staten thought. Who refused to "put words in their mouth", he spoke as if he had a lot of respect for them and their reputation.

Just the language in general makes a lot of sense, he never contradicted himself, and answered question after question.

Not to mention DeeJ said on a weekly update "the hardships of Destiny's development will be discusses at another time."

Do the album by yourself. It's staggering that something like Christian music even exists, so I would not want to rely on others in such a field.

So far this vote has been pretty unanimous
Well, it sounds to me like you're having issues finding reliable people to work with and that your last solo project did really well. Play your strengths, I'd say. Take it seriously and do a full solo album. You can keep looking for a band project at the same time.

That is looking like the best option. I've gone through 7-8 people over a year, and still don't have a band. Freaking ridiculous. This town is FULL of churches and musicians.

Also, protip, it's foolish to rest your entire career on being a performance artist. Keep your options open or you will crash and burn.

Everything I've said still applies to songwriting.

And real talk, if you wanna make money, go with the single.

If not, just stick to what you're doing.

is the "If not" option basically failure?

Play secular music

Not an option for me. I songwrite, how I songwrite.
If I simply did covers all day, I would.

But for me to actually create my own music, lyrics, everything.......it's gotta be from what I believe.
Otherwise I wouldn't be able to finish a single song.
Well change that, and write good music instead.

Change the way you write

-_-  am I not being clear?

To write a song that you believe in, you can't just put words on a page.
It's gotta mean something. I can play every song I've written with conviction, knowing I put my heart and soul into it. Songs like that can change people. Affect their lives.

I can write about loving some girl all day, but after all that is over.........money and success won't satisfy me. If I do that, it becomes just another "job".
