It's what you make of it. You may not be close enough to meet some of us in person, but know that you can have something real.
All the conversation and friendships made online cannot compare to physical relationships.
And I'm not even talking about romance.
Those nine weeks of basic training? Most fucking fun I've ever had in my life. The people I hang with on drill weekends? Always a good time.
Yeah, you guys are great. I spend a lot of time here. This is the social interaction that keeps me together. But still, at the end of it all, what am I doing? Siting naked in bed typing on a computer. I'm at home. I'm not out socializing, making freinds, and doing stupid shit that can be recalled as a funny story later on... and I've accepted that as the result of my choices in life.
They cannot compare, but don't discredit them >_> Heck, with skype you can have a face to face conversation with me. That's why I like it so much. I can really get to know you folks a lot better.

The only problem I see with it would be giving the OP the power to essentially stop the conversation prematurely. Sometimes threads take off and if the OP happens to be a troll, they could easily just lock their own thread.
The requestable lock creates a barrier so that doesn't happen. And really, with so many Ninjas and Monitors online all the time, you're not going to have to wait very long. You could also just make a post saying "lock please" and then report it; that'll send an alert to all the Ninjas and they'll take care of it.
Exactly. Now with Monitors having this ability, there truly is no reason for implementing such a function

What the shit is PDQ and how do I get one of these??
pdq is the restaurant that I work at and only has around 60 locations on the east coast. However, I hear there are plans for at least 100 more locations opening up around the country within the next few years.
