As it has been said ITT by the other guys, the rules are being worked on and NSFW stuff is going to be more relaxed with some basic courtesy rules like tagging and spoilers.

They did, so we are doing things that way.
So why did so many of them end up complaining?

They are complaining about the old rules, we don't have the new ones in place yet.

We aren't basing them simply on obeying the rules. We've been pretty lax, but some things just won't fly.
Others fell into gray areas where the proper course of action wasn't always crystal clear.
The reason for these new rules is both clarity, and the community's desire for changes.
Making things more clear and fitting what people want, seems like a good move to me.
The problem is that the mods are separating themselves from the community
Modding power =/= Responsibility for making this site the gleaming shit of the world
You don't need to guide this community towards anything
This site guides its own destiny
You're just here to prevent anything outrageous to put it simply
We aren't trying to separate ourselves at all. The opposite actually. That's why we are getting feedback and implementing new rules. If we let this thing guide itself........then what? What if it doesn't become what we want it to be? Guidance is necessary if we want more than a simple forum. And we'll of course prevent the outrageous happenings. But if we only stop the outrageous events, then things will simply escalate to that level. They won't stop until we stop them ourselves.
