Frankly, I'm fucking amazed Traviss didn't kill off Arby in Kilo-5. And if there's one thing I'm remotely happy about regarding that trilogy, it's that she didn't kill him off.

Actually killing Thel off in itself isn't stupid, however killing him off stupidly is well... stupid.
He's the most interesting character they have, though. (By a loooong margin.)

There were, yeah. There was Cortana. And Johnson. Both are dead though. Hood is pretty interesting - hopefully he appears in Halo 5. Thel is still the most interesting though.
