Serious / Re: Was Jesus's Cruxifixction a true sacrifice?« on: January 19, 2015, 09:25:37 PM »Would you be more or less willing to die if you knew it was only temporary as opposed to permenant? Jesus left His Kingdom, Heaven, all of that to become a mere carpenter. A humble servant. And died an excruciating death so Humanity could have a way to be free of sin. How is that not sacrifice? 13536
Serious / Re: Was Jesus's Cruxifixction a true sacrifice?« on: January 19, 2015, 09:22:36 PM »God doesn't contradict Himself by sacrificing His Son, because Jesus WAS God. A "sin offering" was necessary to cleanse people of their sins. But to negate that and have the ultimate sacrifice(or "sin offering"), that would cover ALL sins......it would take Christ's death and resurrection. 13537

God doesn't contradict Himself by sacrificing His Son, because Jesus WAS God.
This is something that gets complex: realizing that Jesus "was with God, and WAS God." And Christ was the "sacrificial lamb, sin offering" that cleanses the world of its sins if it accepts that gift. And also, why does knowledge of the aftermath of His death keep His death from being a sacrifice? He still had to go through the suffering. The knowledge of what your actions will bring don't negate what you are doing. That's like saying: you know that if you hold off a gunman and die, the people you are with will escape and survive. So you dying is no longer a sacrifice. You do the exact same action, the only difference is you have the knowledge of the aftermath. What determines an act as sacrifice? The lack of knowledge that what you are doing is worth it? The "book definition" of Sacrifice is: offer or kill as a religious sacrifice. So yeah, Jesus meets the book definition of Sacrifice. 13539

The Flood / Flood, today I was forgetful.« on: January 19, 2015, 04:37:37 PM »
So today I was headed to class, and got a call from my work saying I missed my shift.
Which is odd because they shouldn't schedule me on school days. GUESS WHAT? I drove all the way to college, then remembered...........it's Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes are all cancelled. So I drove to my college for nothing, and I missed work -__________- I'm heading to work shortly to make up for that shift, but I can't believe I forgot about today. I'm just very forgetful.... So I guess discuss embarrassing things you've forgot, or just crazy stuff that's happened to you today! 13551

So that number is off by a VERY larger margin. I'd say 45% is more accurate. 13556
