Pretty much this. The only reason I know when it is the weekend is because my mother is home and being annoying.
Ehhhhh lucky you. My mums always home. I can promise you she's more annoying than yours. My dads self employed. So he's home more often than other dads. He can be bitch over dumb little things. My parents share a brain so if I upset mum, dad comes and gets pissy.
The only reason I knew it was the weekend, over the past summer was because I woke up to my parents saying "time for church". Which has been making me feel kinda shitty lately... Y'know considering how I'm not exactly on par with how a christian should be. I finally got a part time job as a cashier though. I had to put up so much of this though "when I was 16 I was working nonstop, not wasting my life away sleeping and playing video games." "Go out and look a job. We will discuss rent later." "Your 12 year old brother got his own paper route and you can't even get yourself out of bed in the morning."
Ughhhhhh I swear to god, if they are going to heaven... Hell doesn't seem so bad anymore.

Sorry for the rant. /: I didn't mean to 1+ you or anything. It's just, your parent(s) sound much more chill than mine... Assumptions, I know.
Oh no your parents want you to work and better yourself.

How atrocious.
i am working. And they don't have to be such assholes about it either. As if I wasn't already trying to get a job and trying to do a self employed landscaping job on the side.

Lol I'd wonder why Kiyo is "playing by herself" and I'd join in.
You're either brave or stupid... or both.

It does not really matter since I would kill them both.
I feel like this is the natural response to this question.

Muse is fucking amazing. I was excited to learn that Kiyo liked them as well. :3
They are the only band I've actually listened to where I'd listen to the same album for days before moving on. They're sooooo good :')

That, no joke, has to be the edgiest statement I've heard in my life.
That, no joke, is the most meaningless platitude I've ever read in my life...

I mean, Jesus, read a book:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinatalism
Actually I've read my fair share of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche and I thoroughly enjoy their books. However antinatalism is still an idiotic philosophy.

I can't not picture this whenever someone mentions Nietzsche.
God that depressing.

Eh, they're brave, sure. I don't really think space exploration in general is a good use of our resources, though.
this.
All I can see that we'd get out of it is new rock types and dirt.
We honestly have lots of issues "at home" that need to be fixed first. Besides. It should be a world wife effort to go beyond the stars. Some form of world peace or harmony should be a priority before that though.
Anyway, I doubt were going to find any inhabitable planets... Without a warp drive that is. ;)
Consider this period of space exploration to be a phase of laying down the foundation for a building. The ground was dug in the Space Race, but we need to keep working on it. We need to be taking these rudimentary steps (landing rovers on other planets, sending probes out of our solar system, constructing the ISS) to further astronautical research and eventually reach the point of mining asteroids (which tend to be very mineral rich) and terraforming planets.
Mayb I think it's dumb because none of us will be around to see it which is fucking depressing.
You should want the next generation to be better off than your own.
i pity the next generation tbh. I wish I could hope things would get better but I really doubt they will.

Asteroids have more resources than we will ever find on Earth. Not to mention the possibility of terraforming other planets in the solar system to help solve overpopulation.
Well, from the anti-natalist perspective, that sounds like absolute shit.

Terraforming other planets? That's... not a solution for overpopulation. You're exacerbating the issue.

Infecting other planets with intelligent life would probably be the most irresponsible and stupid thing we could ever, ever do.
Should we infect them with dumb life?
burn!

16 year olds are stupid as fuck and make bad choices but people will bitch and moan if someone says it should be higher. I think they're old enough to say "yeah lets fuck" and know what that means. But still. It feels kinda young. I've got two cousins who had kids before 18 and my mums best friend got pregnant two or three times before 16. She was 12 the first time... So yeah four years isn't really a lot of time to "mature" you're still a child a your parents responsibility.

So how does this thread work. Would "someone" send OP a message and he posts it here anonymously for us?
