So my freind has this girlfriend which he isn't getting along very well with. Every time I see him he tells me "I hate that bitch." To me it depends on what it is. For Halo I think it's a good idea having the option for zoom to be what it is now simply because every FPS game now zooms like that. If you have players that are used to that you want those players to feel comfortable in your game. I'm not saying we should get things like kill streaks or perks but for simply game play mechanics like that and climbing which don't harm anyhing I don't see why not.

It's almost shameful for them to be called Spartans.
How is it?
The way they conduct themselves. You don't see The Master Chief giving people high-fives and bragging over a victory.
He is professional at all times.
Maybe the reason why the Chief is so professional all the time is because he was trained since a young age to kill and he spent the majority of his life fighting. He never had the chance to experience what it's like to be a normal human He's not going to be showing emotion like that since the guy wasn't raised like a normal human or was able to experience what a normal human does. The Spartan 4's on the other hand weren't kidnapped as kids to be soldiers and they had the time to experience what normal human behavior is. So they are going to be showing emotion like that and bragging about battles since that's a part of human emotions. The Chief is like Spock from Star Trek except Spock knows what normal emotions are. He just suppresses them unlike the Chief which hasn't experienced them all that much.

They do. I don't see how. They were niche weapons so having them work past their original range clutters the original weapon niches. No what clutters there original weapon niche is by having weapons like the ones in Halo 2, 3 and Reach which are near useless. The AR having a slight zoom feature doesn't get rid of its niche. It simply makes the weapon easier to aim with. If you have someone that's a decent distance away from you it does help when you have a feature that allows you to control the weapon better. If we are going for realism, then spartans should be able to sprint for at least several minutes, use martial arts, kick things, throw rocks, not flip tanks or elephants, hang from stuff, and more. Bringing up them being super soldiers was a dumb thing to say since it implies they should be/shouldn't be able to do certain things. But when it comes down to gameplay wise it is dumb having people go out of their way to get around a 3 foot wall when it simply can be climbed over. Halo always had a base around map movement so having a climbing feature does go with it. Walking around a 3 foot wall doesn't. Halo used to have features that defined it as Halo now 343 constantly have to explain why their features are Halo. Features like killcam are dumb to have in a game but do you really see Halo lasting long if it stayed nearly the same since Halo 2? For certain things like the zoom and the climbing feature it does make sense to have them when a lot of your gamers are used to things like that. You do want to have certain things in your game that are common to people instead of the game playing like it has no place today.

People having a serious discussion or at least a discussion like this about the lore is no different than you talking about sprint being in Halo. It's the same type of discussions just about different things.Both parties are talking seriously or about something that makes up a made up thing. Stop being so butthurt. Stop being butthurt about sprint when it's simply a game play mechanic to a made up video game. After all the MP for Halo doesn't even exist.

I'm not. I simply find it dumb since you find people talking about the lore funny but yet you are playing the games this lore makes up. That's like someone that watches Star Trek finding it funny when people talk about the things that make it up. You guys talk all seriously about all this stuff that doesn't even exist. It's funny. It not existing still doesn't change that the things that make it up can be interesting to people. That's some very limited thinking you have. You must have one boring life if you find any talk about non-real things to be pointless. And those are real things and gameplay elements to talk about. But here's the thing though. You are talking seriously about the game play elements that makes up a made up video game. Talking about the gameplay elements of a video game is the same as talking about the lore to Halo. Both parties are talking about fiction. You're not talking about the rules in a real life thing like football. You're talking about if sprint should or should not be in a made up video game which is as fiction as what the lore is.

I did word that poorly. I know the MC which is a Spartan 2 blew up Halo and helped to end the war. But as a group them self the amount of victories they had would be less compared to the Spartan 3's and normal soldiers due to numbers. The Tiger 2 was a beast in combat and a single Tiger could have done a MC like thing but as a whole they weren't as successful compared to the mass produced T-34.

Spartan IIs and Spartan IIIs true Spartans. How? The majority of the people you are using as Spartans for the Spartan 2 program become casualties from the augmentations. With the Spartan 3 program you're still using kids which takes them longer to train. With soldiers volunteering to be Spartans you have a near limitless amount of people and it takes them less longer to become Spartans than it would with kids.
But those that do survive are the very best, and the selectivity is part of it-the concept of spartans was named after the real-life spartans, so in that sense the 2s are the closest to a true spartan
Them being good still doesn't change that the program can be looked as a failure due to the causality rate and they weren't using soldiers which hinders the amount of people they have to become Spartans. The other thing is that they picked kids by genetics which greatly hinders it. The Spartan 2 program is like the Tiger tanks. The Tiger 1 was a good tank against other tanks but it was a failure due to the failure rate of them. So the Tiger 1 can be looked as the augmentations. Then there are the Tiger 2's which can be looked as Spartan 2's. Sure they were great in combat but the rate they produced them was far too slow and they didn't have much of an impact. The M4 Sherman and the T-34 which were mass produced had a greater impact in the war than the Tiger 1 and 2's due to the rate they are pumped out. The Spartan 2's just like the Tigers took to long to make and they didn't have much of an impact in the war. Sure there is the MC that did his shit but as a group they wouldn't be as successful as what a group with larger numbers would be.
