What got you into the whole nihilism thing and the whole "did you ask the baby if it wanted to be born" type of thing?

In Halo 5, you'll always have three companions

:(
What's so bad about it? For Republic Commando having three companions was great due to the squad based system. Halo 5 may not have a system like that but having a helping hand isn't a bad thing.

343 continues to impress with their ability to name enemies

Promethean Soldier
Promethean Battlewagon

lol
Because Elite, Brute and Grunt were so great.
Bungie wasn't trying hard to give them cool names

With 343 it's obvious "What can we throw in there to make it sound cool"
"Promethean Soldier" doesn't sound like its trying to be anything. Its just a name.
Still it sounds bland. How about Promethean Conscript? Promethean Scavenger? Promethean Shrike? Promethean Specter? Promethean Legionary? Promethean Venator?
I would rather have that bland sounded name. The ones you came up with to me sound like you're trying to hard to name the thing. To me those names sounds like something you would see in those parody MLG videos.

Your posts really hurt to read
I know I ended up typing that half assed due to me being in a hurry to plaster my wall. When I read it a second time that's when I noticed I forgot words or I ended up using different words instead like "are" instead of "armor".

I don't really mind, reviving has become so common it's now part of what is normal.

And this should help to reduce sibling arguments by a bit...
It should also help reduce the amount of times the friendly AI kills you by either running you other or getting in your way when you fire the rocket launcher.
Yes. There are too many moments when your life is put into the hands of a braindead marine.
In Gears 3 during the first armored Kantas fight I ended up blowing myself up a decent amount of items with the boomshot because of one of the AI's. When I fail to kill it with the second shot I reload the checkpoint and when I fired at it sometimes the AI runs in front of me.
The worst is when you are stood in front of the AI and unbeknownst to you they have decided to fire a rocket launcher straight into the hill slope where you are stood. Or when one of them gets in a warthog and attempts to drive it within 10m of you-with dire consequences
Oh god when the AI in Halo CE gets a ghost. They just slightly run into you and it kills you. Those fuckers follow you around like flies on shit when they're in those things.

CE's AI is horrific
They did run into you but CE's AI I say is the best one in the series. Instead of just standing around being retards the friendly AI did do something and the enemy AI got smarter on Legendary instead of being bullet sponges. The other great thing about CE's AI is Bungie did put depth into them. When it comes to the marines the ones with armor have more hit points than the ones without it. For both friendly AI and the Elites when they are about to die they go berserk which is something we don't see after CE.

The Flood / Re: YFW gas was $0.03 a gallon in the 1600s
« on: June 13, 2015, 08:31:38 AM »
And, not to mention, gasoline is taxed at close to 20pc in the US. Hell, we'd be even better off if people didn't stop fucking with nuclear energy ever time it tries to make an effort.
Just imagine the amount of diesel that would be saved if the larger commercial and transportation vehicles went nuclear. A nuclear powered freight train would be nothing more than a modern steam locomotive. The coal car would be the reactor and the boiler would be the engine. The only thing you have to do is have a series of cables connecting both cars together for the steam to transfer over. For cargo and cruise ships the military has nuclear powered vessels which works very well. I don't get why large civilian and corporation ships don't use reactors either. The amount of diesel it takes to power those things is huge. With the amount of diesel a super cargo ship takes is enough to fill a shit load of smaller vehicles. There are nuclear powered cargo ships but the amount there are for them they might as well not exists.

The other thing that would make the price of gas go down is that if we didn't destroy or rail system. Trains are able to pull far more weight than semis and they are able to hull more people than what buses and planes do. To me when it comes to transportation we have no idea what we're doing. We're using inefficient means to power things and we're not taking advantage of a means of transportation that's a lot more practical.

"A nuclear powered freight train"

We need to stop that shit, right there.

K. Trains are already destructive enough when they derail. And lately they've been derailing a lot. In fact an entire town was practically vaporized up in rural Quebec last year in the winter when a tanker train detonated right in the middle of it.

We don't need mini nukes on rails just yet.
It's this type of ignorant thinking which is holding us back. There's people out there like you that hear the word "nuclear" and no matter what it is they just think bomb. A nuclear reactor is not going to end up being a nuclear bomb. If there's any type of explosion it's just going to be steam. Any nuclear reactors built today are going to be far safer than what was built in the past.

As if Legendary needed to be easier
If you don't get revived in time you will die and when you're down you may still die as well. In Gears when you get down the AI is still able to kill you.

Players can issue revival commands to AI teammates or be resurrected by them.

Microsoft's upcoming sci-fi shooter Halo 5: Guardians will include a new feature never before seen in the franchise but commonplace in one of the company's other blockbuster series. Game Informer's July cover story on Halo 5 reveals that, in the game's co-op mode, players will be able to revive their fallen squadmates. This mechanic has been a staple of Gears of War since the first game. It's typically seen as a means to encourage players to work together instead of taking a lone wolf approach.

In Halo 5, you'll always have three companions. They are controlled either by other human players (online only, as there is no local split-screen) or by the computer. If you're playing alone and a teammate goes down, you can command a squadmate to save them; AI-controlled team members are also capable of reviving you.

Presumably, revives will only work if completed in a certain amount of time.

In previous Halo co-op campaigns, a fallen friend could only spawn back in when the area became "safe." Fans will no doubt recall how frustrating this could be in some situations, and the new revival system sounds like a nice solution.

Halo 5's online co-op mode requires Xbox Live Gold, despite an earlier report that said it wouldn't.

Game Informer's Halo 5 story also reveals that Cortana, an artificial intelligence who essentially "died" in the events of Halo 4, will play some role in Halo 5. She's depicted in the game, at least in the scene that Game Informer saw, as a silhouette on a rock. Microsoft previously teased that she would appear in some manner.

Separately, The Guardian has some additional Halo 5 details, including the fact that The Arbiter and Promethean enemies will return.

We're expecting a lot more Halo 5 news next week at E3, including the first details about an "epic" multiplayer mode that incorporates all aspects of the Halo sandbox for the first time. But for now, check out some recent Halo 5 stories below.
I'm glad Halo is getting a system like this. For myself I found it very annoying whatever progress you made gets lost when you died. At least with this you an keep on going. Since the system is like Gears of War when it comes to Legendary you might just die instead of going down since that's what Gears does on insane.
