This means that the infinite set of all real numbers does not in fact correspond to the infinite list of all natural numbers. Therefor they are not of the same cardinality.

OK goji, I've done a little research maybe I can help. Probably not, I'm shit at this stuff.
Essentially the diagonal method itself is just a way to come up with a number from a set of other numbers.
The argument? Cantor wanted to prove that the set of all real numbers is not of the same cardinality as the set of all natural numbers. So he started by assuming the opposite.
Assuming they were, any number you could come up w/ should be able to fit into an infinite list of real numbers that corresponds w/ the infinite list of natural numbers. In fact you can just use the infinite set of real numbers between 0 and 1. Representing the real numbers symbolically generalizes the argument. Ex. 0.d1,1d1,2d1,3. . .dn, n. . . (The first sub meaning the number corresponds to that real number and the second sub corresponding to the magnitude of the d).
Create a list based on this scheme and then apply the diagonal method to it. We will call the number we generate w/ Cantor method m.
m=0.(d11+1)(d22+1)(d33+1). . .and so on.
If Cantor is wrong you should be able to shoehorn this number back into that list. You can't.

>wasting a change.org petition on this bullshit
>being this concerned over 10101010101010s
huh?
Petitions are for like, actual fucking problems. Not petty forum bullshit.
What, you mean something like the US building a fully operational death star?
Are you implying that such a thing wouldn't be a great use of military spending and secure our place as an intergalactic superpower?
Besides we'd probably even let the Bongs and Canucks help.

You guys thinking I'm good at math. I love it but I definitely struggle. I'm decent at best. Spoiler Fun fact: I actually did horribly in math in high school and on the SAT. I think the math portion of my Sat was around 550. I even had to take remedial math my first semester of college It just clicked one day and I decided to pursue physics(I was undecided before then).

What's said book about? What type of book? Action?
Survival/speculative fiction I suppose. A crew member for a Mars mission is stranded in an empty station for almost a year. It's pretty cool it's written in the former of diary entries.

Why don't the people that organize this shit know how to organize an agreed upon list of grievances to which the protesters can refer so they don't look like dumbasses?

3/5 offers, nigga.
Goml
what? why only 3/5? you had good predicted grades from what I can remember.
the other 2 wait until the deadline before choosing
Oh, I'm scared about mine I've only made 2 choices. Engineering at either Portsmouth or UCL
PE?
Chem engineering is supposed to be really hard. Sucks for me because I'm looking at double majoring that with electrical engineering, which is also supposed to be really hard.
But I'm just going for the bare minimum of a 3.0 GPA, so whatever.
ChE and EE? Nice.
God, I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate chemistry.
It's just all the memorization that comes with chemistry that's a pain in the ass. Learning about how atoms and molecules work is interesting for me though. But yeah, unless I change my mind again I'm looking at working with energy and power. I have the email of this guest speaker who was the same dual major as I want to be and he helped design and improve the fuel cell, so that's helpful I guess.
The memorization is what kills me. The thing I love about physics is you just have to remember your math and your laws and if you really needed to you can just derive your eqs. of motion from there.

Aerospace Engineering and Physics
Ouch, good luck man that's hard. Well imo anyway. PE mainly involves just calculus, it's not that advanced either so I'll be ok >.>
Aerospace is basically just ME, with more of a focus on fluid and orbital dynamics and control theory. I'm taking physics major on type because I just like physics.

Yah, Petroleum Engineering. Portsmouth university is by a beach which is nice, I also want change so moving to a new city wouldn't be too bad but at the same time I could save thousands if I just stayed at home in London and went to UCL.
if you can afford it do it. I'm moving to Atlanta next year which will be a shock to me because I've never lived in a large city, I'm kind of just hoping I don't die.
You're doing PE too??
