meanwhile australia is still continuously restructuring its internet plans mid implementation for more money and worse service

Don't worry potato. Canadian government is the master at procrastinating on plans. Your country'll beat us yet.

I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be a god emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s dank memes - not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good dat boy is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of memes can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Lot of poorer countries have women fighters since it's basically a neccessity for them if they want to survive. Most westerners on the other hand, are soft.

I didn't kick the can but I had to say goodbye to a body part several days ago. 2016 killed part of me then I guess.

Bets are on Morgan Freeman.

It's a brand name I've never heard of so it's probably ass.

I won't miss it at all. Giving a voice to everyone in only 200 characters is a bad idea, and I hate the toxic culture behind it. Especially shows trying to play to it and literally saying "hashtag *insert name*, hashtag *insert another name*". It really just made me cringe in the worst ways possible.

Do you die a little inside too when cable news hosts have to list off tags for things or when they bring up and show posts?

Ever hear of the backfire effect?
No.

Can't remember spefics. But the basis is, the more you try to prove your respective point to somebody with an opposing view, by backing it up with logic and data, the less said person or group will believe you.

It may be a blanket term or it might be spefically in the case of arguing religious ideologies. In any case, I'm sure there's loads of that in politics.

Is this a copy pasta? Feels like one.
It isn't. I just recently started going back on B.net when bored and I'm surprised at the state the community is in. What used to be the extreme and very fringe opinions are now commonplace. And I'm not even talking about politics, but even things like evolution, climate change and the benefits of vaccinations are regularly challenged as being false by large amounts of people.

Blame it on the younger kids. We the old fucks now.

Good paint job though.

Sparked an old memory here. Speaking of booze.

I know a fellow who scavenges roadkill for food. I walked into his house one day and it smelled like ass. He was brewing homemade moonshine in five gallon pails under his kitchen table and covered them with a tarp. He was busy dumping a shitload of yeast into them when I stopped by.

It was at this point that I truly understood that I was living in the boonies.

There's six furries in my entire province. One of them lives near a settlement I personally know.

Ya know, that seems like a great starting point to a murder spree.

Alcohol technically does that for them at a slow rate. Don't worry matey, they'll get around to it someday.
no, i need you to all kill yourselves now

There's a large carnivorous beetle that calls home to my province. They can grow up to about the length of your thumb. They're aggressive as fuck, have mandibles that can take off a chunk of skin deep enough to see bone if they get your fingers, long antenna, and spindly ass fucking legs that stick to anything.

And they have the ability to fly very poorly for short distances. These things will come flying out of the air like a drunk pilot and then latch onto you. First you feel their antennas and then you feel those god awful legs.

I cannot describe to you the feelings that happen when one of these things lands on the back of your head.

Gaming / Re: Halo Mega Thread

Does anybody else hate that boost ability which is able to kill people if you're in range of it? For myself I keep forgetting about it(Due to me being used to the real Halo's.) which results in me getting killed and not using it.
Spartan charge shouldn't be in the game tbh

I remember it being annoying as fuck for me. People would do the charge and then melee me or headshot me.

I'd use the charge and knock the enemy player out of melee range or completely blast them in a random ass direction to which I couldn't orient fast enough to shoot them, giving them the kill instead.

Spartan charge wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so lopsided in consistent results. The ability itself is somewhat counterable with a quick spraying of bullets and a melee, but due to how random it is, this only works some of the time.

The Flood / Re: Debating on going vegetarian for a month
« on: December 11, 2016, 11:26:27 PM »
Here's a thought. Do you gotta be so black and white about it?

Being a vegan is dependant on a lot of things. What markets you access to and what you can afford. More importantly, how much resolve you have to maintain your goal. More often than not, people decide to cut things out of their lifestyle abruptly without really putting thought into it.

Not to say that outright stopping isn't possible, but for a lot of people, it's like switching the train tracks to a section of uncompleted track. Sure the train rolls down that road for a bit, but eventually it gets to the part of the track that's not finished. It derails and then it's forced to be brought back onto the original track.

Instead, maybe consider phasing into it based on what you've got around you. Get accustomed to eating less meat and finding more alternatives and experimenting. As you go along, eventually you'll either make the whole gap, or you'll get as close as you can get with what you have, like me.

The Flood / Re: Hate vs Apathy
« on: December 11, 2016, 11:15:53 PM »
Hate's overrated and self destructive unless you channel it outwards at something. You can't maintain that forever before it eventually spills out into other parts of your life and circles back right around at you.

Taking the circumstance it's encountered in, apathy is either a branch-off of laziness, a self defense mechanism, or just a simple reaction to what really doesn't interest a person. But in a lot of cases, apathy backfires on people as well.

Can't speak for others but it's probably generally a better idea if you don't gain your productivity or focus because of tying yourself to a ball and chain that has roots to an emotional state.

Serious / Re: Unbiased News Sources?
« on: December 11, 2016, 01:31:38 AM »

I had other notions in my post but I'm kinda garbled at the moment to properly explain where I'm getting at.

My thinking is more along the lines that news outlets should be responsible for reporting what's up and nothing more. If you want to go to a fact check section than that's fine too, but keep it seperate. It seems like today there's too much personal opinion involved in reporting events rather than actually just reporting them for what they are at base value.

And, while there's panels and sections devoted for discussion on events hosted by news networks, we come back to the issue of being heavily biased and leaning in favor towards one side. This ends up making a collection of news networks doing the whole "my side your side" bullshit so much that now you have to personally fact check what the news is spewing to verify their slanted content.

So what's worse? An outlet not calling anybody out on their bullshit but merely showing the statement at face value? Or an outlet that leans in favor to a certain side and never really shows the whole deal up front? Personally, watching networks perpetreate the "my side your side" mentality that seems to be going around in force these days is agonizing.

I just want to listen to what's up. Not have to fact check what the fuck the news is saying because I know that they aren't actually telling the whole story.
I for one don't think fact-based reporting should be an opt-in service.

To each their own. Not like you or I could change it even if either of us wanted to.

Might depend on where you got it from.

I've never personally had one, but I remember the smell they had to them when I served them in my cafe. Really strong smell that was alluring. Almost gave in to temptation for that smell.

The Flood / Re: How do you supress the urge to bully certain people?
« on: December 11, 2016, 12:55:06 AM »
I don't have to since there isn't one in the first place. If you're asking for a how-to-tutorial on not how to be a sack of potatoes? Be put into the position of the one being shit on and either helpless to do anything about it or hesitant to. Now repeat this process for a few years. If you're a semi-intelligent human being you'll have learned to value the fragility of other people's well being and opt not to destroy it with your own hands.
Why do use "sack of potatoes" as a pejorative?

I got raging pissed at something once and called it "a motherfucking sack of fucking potatoes."

It's got a nice ring to it.
