The Flood / Re: Saw GET OUT
« on: March 18, 2017, 02:32:28 AM »
So is it a movie with "fuck white people" as an underlying motivation or does it stand up on it's own with original content?
Oh It absolutely stands on it's own feet.

In fact, I don't want to spoil anything, but the racial factors turn out not to be founded in any sort of negative attitude toward black people from white people, or vice versa.

There's stark imagery and incredible symbolism throughout.

It really is worthy of acclaim.

Nice to hear that for once something didn't take the predictable route.

All the critters I had being out on a farm and it never got any easier when they passed. It takes a while to get used to them not being there. If you took good care of them you can take solace that for the entirety of their life, they had a good time with you. A lot of critters don't often get that, less so than people.

Interesting site there. Nice to read through IMO.

That's pretty cool, though it seems to be a bit more taken with cool than scientific realism. Particularly where it mentiond humans being a Kardashev I civilisation by the 23rd century, and colonies will be rolling on Mercury across the equator to stay in the Terminator Zone (there's a bunch of reasons why this is more effort than it's worth)

Let's just put islam on mercury instead.

Mercury's far too useful. Lets just dump them on a shithole like Venus.

Didn't figure venus was irredeemable either. I'd always assumed it would be put onto the list for later advancements due to a slim possibility of terraforming.

It's the only other solid planet in the solar system with capabilities for supporting an actual atmosphere that wouldn't be too thin or get blasted away because of a weak magnetic field.

All you gotta do is thin the atmosphere like so.

You folks keep up the good work. Been fun watching you all progress.

39
They should be backtracking on that and taking a harder stance on communicable things in general. That's just fucking scummy to do intentionally.

Reminds me of all the talks I had with docs when I asked about being an organ donor. It's rare for a cancer infected body part to transfer the cancer to a new host but for precautionary reasons if you've got cancer, or had cancer, and hadn't been clean for a certain period of years, then all of you goes to the burn barrel. I get the express ticket to hell baby.

So how'd the date go?
It was pleasant.

A little slow off but things picked up a lot.

We're both movie buffs so we talked about that for a long time.

I think I might see him again.

Here's hoping matey.

That seems to add unneccessary complexity to things. My assumption of bi was that you were attracted to either sex. Logically that should branch out to cisgendered people since they still fall somewhere into one of those categories.
"preference for cis" was a weird way of saying "they're not into transpeople"

if you're pansexual you literally do not care
idk i'd find it kinda weird for a bisexual person, someone who is into both dicks and vaginas, to be repulsed by a girl with a dick or vice versa it's like buddy it's literally a combination of both the things you like
i'm sure you can think of two things you enjoy that you wouldn't like combined
nah fam im over here puttin ranch dressing on my ice cream and no one can stop me

I am a connoisseur of putting my happy meal into a blender

Maybe it's like food.

I like pizza and I like pineapples.

But mixing them together makes an abomination.

What is "pansexual"?
when you just don't care and you'll fuck anything with a pulse
i honestly still dont see how pansexuality is different from bisexuality

sexuality is based on biology, and all gender identities and even biological sexes are based on some combination of male and female features. that's two. bi
you can be bi and have a preference for cisgendered people

pan doesn't care

Serious / Re: On the subject of The Culture War
« on: March 14, 2017, 01:59:06 PM »
I'm looking at what's happening in canadian cities and large population centers and some of the insanity of internet culture is making itself prevalent there. Which I find stunning particularily because Canada doesn't have it as bad as the US. We're not perfect but we have so much less of the major cultural and political divides that the US does, and for some reason, the less than sane end of the political spectrum is begginning to burn holes in things and gain a foothold.

Not out in the north though. Farther north you go in canada the less people there are, the greater the distance between them, the harder it is to survive. There's aspects of bad things in some people but it's rarely organised into a system or given room to take root. It's just singular people on their own with no sway and more pressing concerns taking their time. I find it interesting to watch and see how much distance plays such a very important role in things.

History will repeat itself. That's how we'll adapt. Sadly a capitalist society cannot coexist with one that has automated labor.
Is that really sad?

Yeah. Take a look at it and put your disliking aside. I'm no fan of the way capitalism has done things but I can't throw out that it has gotten some things done too. When whatever particular collapse hits us, it'll be messy. It'll be a shame to see progress lost.

Serious / Re: Let's talk about robots.
« on: March 14, 2017, 01:00:39 PM »
Is there even any compelling data suggesting automation leads to a net job loss? Humanity has automated quite a bit throughout history and markets have always adapted to utilize the supply of workers.

Those labor camps for jobless people in the industrial revolution were pretty snazzy.

Problem isn't so much with automation as it is class. The low end has always taken the brunt and the high enders always rode the profit.

First time I heard campaign used was Halo. I think that's the only game where I call story mode campaign. Everything else I still call story. Weird.

The right way to do it was insta kill all of them with a wraith blast as soon as they exited the phantom.

Ya'll are just mad that your sniper spree was ended by a cross map wraith shot on valhalla

wasn't that bad if you know what you're doing. when you get to Tilt everyone should have been carrying a plasma rifle at all time, they will pop their shield in three hits. Tilt makes the players more tankier to plasma shots so blackeye doesn't change anything unless you were stupid and always tried to go for melee hits

Unless you were one of those people who was still using an SMG that far into a game or was actually pumping sniper rounds into them as they fly in from the phantoms and got dumbstruck as to why your sniper isn't even tickling them

t. a firefight 50
The carbine absolutely raped drone majors, but they were still annoying little fucks to fight tbh.

Not that a halo title has yet managed to make its AI a particularly fun battle on higher difficulties anyway.

The right way to do it was insta kill all of them with a wraith blast as soon as they exited the phantom.

and then it got the hose anyway because if I left it on to long blood would seep from my pores

What's your deal with collecting info on folks? Just a habit?
Hobby really.

I collect it, sometimes I post it, but I never keep it.
Just wanna see how far I can get.

Not so different. Got stuff in my head from talking to people here over time. Lot of secrets I'll be taking with me wherever I go.
