If your child is in the tub crying hysterically about his parents not loving or liking him and verbally abusing him for youtube gets you deserve nothing but a bullet to the throat

I hope the kid gets the help he deserves
the child cant consent to help

the fact that airlines can overbook planes on purpose sickens me. the employees can go fuck themselves, they can catch the next flight, those people paid and should be expected to go to their destinations without any repercussions. in this case, no one should be kicked off just because of an error in booking.
Okay
picture the scenario

Do we inconvenience four people here on this one flight because we fucked up, or do we inconvenience an entire flight elsewhere because four pilots that need transferred to Louisville are stuck in Chicago?
the airliner shouldnt be overbooking in the first place

As much as I loved the show, watching it twice wouldn't be enjoyable
lol I've watched it four times so far
jesus, i mean the only time id watch it again is maybe for a plot summary or analysis for a class but in my major, that wont be happening.

Wow really? But I mean... how do you take a picture of something that has no light to it?

Different things like radio waves or something?

Pardon the ignorance.

A lot of telescopes also look out for different frequencies of light - gamma, xray, infrared etc.

Plus, in terms of visuals, you'd be able to see a black hole due to gravitational lensing - the pull of gravity around one is so strong it physically affects and warps space. As such, if you were to fly past one you'd see the light behind it (so, dust clouds, stars, etc in the distance) warping and changing as it bends to go around the event horizon.

Also, Black Holes that are actively "feeding" will have rings around them (like Gargantua in Interstellar). These rings are dust, particles, matter, gas and so forth that fornerly made up all kinds of objects being ripped apart and accelerated to relavtavistic velocities. As the dust hits other bits of dust, a lot of friction is generated and thus a fuck ton of heat and light.

Good gravitational lensing video below.
YouTube

However, from the distance we are to Sag A*, there's simply too much dust, light and distance to really get a good picture of the gravitational lensing. The best we get is looking at radiation emitted and the orbits of stars around the galactic core.
also, they predict we'll see the ring around it, so it'll be a blob in the center while the surrounding area is dust and such

How can you put something all around a flat surface though?

You still haven't shown me why the earth is round as you keep claiming naru, i'm waiting.
i will murder you
Have you seen the video of Carl Sagan talking about the Greeks predicting the circumference of Earth in 280 BC? I realize you don't need to learn about it but the video is worth the watch nonetheless.
cant say i havent, link daddy?

its pretty complex stuff, im not a pro astronomer, but a cool thing about radio telescopes is that they can be very huge in regards to aperture. im sure youre familiar with the VLA. a bunch of telescopes in the desert that expand and contract when moving on railways. anyways, with radio telescopes, their apertures can increase without anything being in between them, like a mirror in most traditional telescopes. so we're essentially using an earth sized radio telescope to view into the milky way.

its super complex, but the radiowaves can help a lot since theyre the easiest to work with than things like hubble or stuff.

http://www.ibtimes.com/what-does-black-hole-look-event-horizon-telescope-may-soon-image-boundary-no-return-2519463

basically telescopes all over the world are acting as one to face the center of our milky way galaxy to try to take a picture of our supermassive black hole. now, if all goes according to plan, we should get data by the end of this year. the telescope will run for several days observing at different frequencies. i hope this works out, itll be YUGE like the gravity waves phenomena from a while back
So this will be the first actual picture of a blackhole maybe?
if all goes well, yes
