I believe what I said isn't racist. The problem with this thread is that I didn't elaborate on a potentially sensitive topic in the way that I wanted it to be perceived. I will admit that the fact that I didn't elaborate was a stupid mistake. Perhaps next time I make a joke on something fairly sensitive, I'll explain the way I perceive it.

Well, then I guess there's not much more we can do about that then can we? To be fair though, you could describe any riot as planet of the apes. The only thing that's ever gone around in riots is rampant stupidity and a chain reaction through people instigated by an aggressor either legitimately or artificially. I remember watching the riots in British Columbia over a hockey game once. You could easily have called something like that planet of the apes.

Because he's calling the rioters apes. He's one of those house servants that would look down upon the field worker even though they were both slaves.
It's not racist. However, that remark is pretty racist. Why jump to the slaves? I could be, and am, talking about the way they behave. Primitive, violent. They are acting like pissed off apes. And apes are known to kill, loot, and the like. I know that the people in Ferguson aren't killing, but they are running around destroying and looting and rioting. Acting like primates, all because a 'white racist' shot a black man. That's not how you act in a situation like that.
