No doubt, but who the fuck is interested in playing the blame game now? If you give a man a knife, you blame him when he stabs another person.
Fuck ISIS and all of the other terrorist groups - they're responsible for themselves.
It's not so much a blame game, as it is a failure for the US to learn from its mistakes with foreign policy. The big lesson from the Soviet-Afghan war is to not rush into arming rebels when you have no idea who they are. Yet they're doing that same thing down in Syria as we speak.

I have been in the hospital waiting room for the past six hours and was watching CNN because it was the only thing on TV, and they were talking about ISIS. That shit is a lot more serious than I had originally thought.
lolCNN I'm sorry for you Noelle.

They're wrong.
Islamists will be Islamists.
The US still played a fairly important part in their rise to power though. It was about 50-50 between the Soviet Union and the US in terms of responsibility for the Taliban and Al Qaeda being so influential.

>implying a national curriculum is a good idea
Yeah, it's only a passable idea in tiny countries. Trying it out in a nation of 300,000,000 people is completely idiotic.

When people claim this fundamentalist terrorism is a direct result of U.S. foreign policy, you can see how far the termites have spread.
...so are you saying that those people are right or what? I'm not getting exactly what you mean by "the termites have spread"

13% of the British population are foreign-born. If you heard the amount of anti-immigration rhetoric in this country you would realise nobody is trying to please the migrant population.
Not to mention, any societal problems caused by immigration (which I think are massively outweighed by the economic benefits) are not at all solved by blanket restrictions on people coming into this country.
Not to mention that vast majority of the immigrants are from former British colonies (Pakistan, India, Nigeria). The UK's history alone is enough reason for the country to have such an immigrant culture.

Not entirely serious. However, we still had that containment policy at the time, didn't we?
This was a Soviet intervention protecting the newly-instated Communist government. We were the attackers in that particular war.

We wouldn't have had to fund the Mujahedin if them dang dirty stinking Reds would have stayed in their own country first.
Or.. We never had to supply them to begin with? So what if they wanted to get their hands dirty in Afghanistan? It was literally right next to the Soviet Union. Unless you weren't being serious...

Well, since the first two of those came directly out of US intervention in the Soviet War in Afghanistan. And since ISIS, came from Al-Qaeda. Pretty much, the US was nearly completely responsible for the rise of all 3 of those groups.

Gotta love the BNP. It's extra funny when obviously Fascist parties try to deny that they're Fascist. But I don't think anyone can beat Golden Dawn in that way.

We do actually, although it's a fair point that most of the recent interventions have been US led but not all of them. Take Mali for example, the French have been thrashing boko haram there for fucking with one of their old colonies.
(I might have some of the details on that wrong but I'm a little tired so eh.)
The UK would probably be more proactive if the public's view of more intervention was that of 'Are you having a fucking giggle there mate?' Hell, even Parliament told the PM to go fuck himself over Syria. We stuck our collective dicks in the wrong mess and it's left a very unpleasant legacy ._.
That's Asnar Dine you're thinking of.

Heath Ledger's Joker is one of my favourite characters to have ever existed.
And yes, I admire him a great deal.
YES!! He pulled off the role absolutely perfectly. Nobody could have done a better than him. It's such a shame that he died, cause maybe he would have been in the next film.
