Killing the Ayatollahs won't fix the IRGC problem. They have invested a lot in various sectors of the state integrating Iran into the world economy would actually have a positive effect by undermining their control, lots of Iran analysts I follow expect an IRGC take over should the Mullahs fall but you never know the Green movement of a couple years back isn't completely dead they'd most likely face lots of public resistance, something of which Iranians are masters of.
I don't see the people overthrowing the IRGC without help from America.
Not true. Who helped the people during 79? The Shahs Imperial Army and Savak couldn't do anything because it was a genuine popular movement (later hijacked) IRGC wont be able to stop something similar either.

Because he was going to do what Mossadegh did/wanted to do.
The Shah reversed Mossadegh's nationalisation policy after taking power giving a coalition of foreign companies quite a lot more control over Iran's oil company so I still fail to see how the CIA would back an anti-Shah coup.

Look at how women dress in Iran, another Islamic theocracy. All they need is a hijab, and they get pretty creative with it.
I could say the same about Baghdad where it's mainly just hijabs and no hijabs. Everything however changes when you step out of more liberal urban cities.
