Annexation of Papau New Guinea complete. Continued annexation of Indonesia through page 34.

The Australian military begins construction of four new ships. Expected completion, pending any problems, on page 32, and 35.

No, but they should have representation in the House of Reps and the Senate.

That's never been done before - having a non state with actual voting power. Hell, I don't even think the Constitution sets rules for it.

DC should never be a state

Does it not disenfranchise the eligible voters who live there?
Well put it this way. Do you want one state to be in control of the nation's capital?

That's why it wasn't made part of Virginia or Maryland.

No one said they have to live there

Sounds like an argument used during the Jim Crow era. Not linking you to being a racist or that it's the same thing, but the argument of "Don't like it? Move" is extremely childish. You can't just pack up, quit your job, and move at a whim's notice.
You're the one that chose to live there, its your problem. People need to learn this thing called being responsible for their actions.

God, that is a bullshit statement.

Basically put it, there are 600,000 people who live within the District's borders who do not have voting power in Congress. That's their biggest qualm, because many will say it is "Taxation without Representation."

So, your thoughts? Should the District become a state, or no?

Britbongistan resigns for being AFK too long .-.
Of course...
*sigh*

Ja sorry <.<

I kind of missed the last day and a half so it's better to just drop out now I think >.>

Wouldn't be too hard to join in at this point. Nothing too major has happened in regards to massive inventions. Everyone is working towards, or has steel at this point - and a couple of the island nations have ships.

If you want to join, Class and I will give you a bit of leeway to make gains and be on equal footing with us.

Oh, shit. We're actually doing the coalition now?

King Icy I and his royal family arrives in New Zealand for the talks. To the North, annexation of Papau New Guinea and many of the Indonesian islands begin - 1%.

At home, the Australian population reaches 90,000 people. Perth continues development and small settlements begin to appear up and down the coastline. More developments in 2 years.

Military begins researching usage of gunpowder in weapons. More to come in 3 years.

Australia is growing tedious of this bickering. If China and Japan do not reach an agreement soon, there will be no coalition with Australia present.
China assures Australia that it's doing everything in its power to remedy the situation with Japan.

Australia recommends dropping this pursuit of a fancy sword and finding alternate weaponry.

Lady Luna lands on Papau New Guinea.

King Icy I extends an invitation to the leaders of New Zealand, China, and Japan to discuss a possible coalition - pending the cease of any hostilities.
China reminds Australia that China has not spilled a drop of Japanese blood.

Australia reminds China that hostilities take many forms.

China wants our only military advantage forfree . Which is why these hostilities are still valid.

Any economic, military, and political problems shall be discussed at the meeting.

What would Shogun Neo like to discuss.

Expansion plans. And a new name for our alliance.

King Icy I would like a say in the terms of any alliance, due to our military protection of New Zealand.

So seven years to travel 8,500 miles? I'm pretty sure they could travel to farther places in less time.

The point is not that you are not giving yourself enough time - the point is that the ships our countries are using are likely wooden sailboats. They would never make 8,000 miles, through storms, and all that.

We are not saying you cannot use ships to colonize. We are saying, at this point, traveling 8,000 miles by sea is simply not feasible. That goes for everyone. Land colonization is fine, but sea colonization is going to take far longer.

As I said, there are places far closer - Korea and Southeast Asia, along with the various islands. Start with that for now, and work your way for better ships to colonize No one will be getting Africa soon.

Korea is now part of China.

I just noticed, was using an older copy of the map. Anyway...

Lady Luna begins her maiden voyage north with 400 soldiers.

Research into the production of steel begins.

Either way, you can accept or deny Class's new request of 10 Katanas.

New Zealand tries to exploit gunpowder's explosive properties by attaching canisters of gunpowder to a chair in an attempt to reach the moon.

The chair instead exploded, what remains we found of the participant were sent to his family.
Canada sends it's condolences and requests some gunpowder for future testing.
New Zealand declines your request.

Australia requests some gunpowder.
New Zealand declines

Australia would like to remind New Zealand of our agreement, and that you are safe under the protection of the Australian military.
You accepted the agreement? When?

Pretty sure I did like Page 8 or 12. I dunno.

It's been accepted.

Fuck this shit. I'm done playing.

Why?

Because I'm always getting targeted by class everytime I start playing when I've only been in the game for a few pages. And have nothing to do, shits happened 3 times everytime I try to play UN. I'm not going to  waste my time trying to play when I have people on my ass right when I start.

Class, whether or not you are doing it intentionally, stop blatantly targeting Neo again. We are still early in this game, let's not cause drama. Either reduce the number of katana's you'd like, or debate a better deal.

Neo, let's be honest. We're looking at very early times - we aren't colonizing entire new continents at this point. Settle for something closer to Japan.

Africa isn't that far from Japan. Not to mention I had the expected time set at several years(about 6or7) that's plenty of time to get to Africa. Not to mention it would take a few more pages to even start getting land there. We have people that have taken over whole countries already.

You're looking at 8,500 miles. We are still in very early times - giving everyone leeway on colonizing as it's necessary for the game, but we are not going to begin sailing halfway around the world. There are islands and places closer to you to begin with.

Australian military's first ship, Lady Luna, has been completed. Maiden voyage to begin shortly.

With a slow but steady rise in population, Australia reaches 80,000 citizens - mainly in the capital city of Sydney, and the growing center of Perth. Military strength remains at ~20,000 soldiers, equipped with iron swords.

King Icy I takes a husband.

Research into ships complete. King Icy directs the Australian slave population to begin construction of the ship. Expected by Page 15.

Following research into iron and ore (Page 8 ), Australian military begins researching further uses of iron with other metals from the Australian mines - including carbon. More by Page 14.

Western Australian citizens settle down in the village of Perth.
