Why isn't there a nationwide law for all 50 states to legalize gay marriage? Why do states get to take their sweet time in legalizing it?
The federal government doesn't and shouldn't have a say in marriage.
Then why do southern states get to deny gay couples the right to marry because of ancient mythical fairytales?
State's rights. It's simply not the federal government's position to enforce marriage laws. It's not what it was made for.

It is the federal government's role to step in if a state's law purposefully discriminates against a sect of society, or violates a part of the Constitution.

This is an exciting time. Not only because more people are enjoying equality under the law, but we also get to see the "Race to see who is last to legalize same-sex marriage"

It'll be fun to watch.

I've got $50 on Mississippi.

I agree.
Also if we are going to expand we should probably increase staff as the user count gets higher. More users means more people to look after.

I think we're good on Staff Size now, pending any adjustments from Cheat following the poll. As we grow though, I agree.

Are you implying there's something wrong with being critical of Islam?

Not at all. People should be critical of all religions - I'm referring to the people who think all Muslims are terrorists, that no Muslim should wear traditional headcoverings or attire in places like America, etc.

Before we begin any of these big projects to expand our site, I feel we need to make sure we have everything in order with who's here - including the current staffing debate and other problems that still are open.

Don't want to build an expansion when the foundation is cracking.

No. Islam represents a unique threat to Civil Society.

Anybody who disagrees is most likely a liberal, severely lacking in threat-detection faculties and unaware of the benefits of parochial loyalty.

Fortunately? Why would you want that piece of shit part of this place?

You do realize you're the only one making a fuss about this?

He hasn't done anything wrong, and it's been established that we are giving all users a clean slate. If you don't want to see what he posts, mute him. He won't be making alts as they won't be given clearance to post.

Story

Quote

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court has turned away appeals from five states seeking to prohibit same-sex marriages, paving the way for an immediate expansion of gay and lesbian unions.

The justices on Monday did not comment in rejecting appeals from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The court's order immediately ends delays on marriage in those states. Couples in six other states should be able to get married in short order.

That would make same-sex marriage legal in 30 states and the District of Columbia.

But the justices have left unresolved for now the question of same-sex marriage nationwide.

The community isn't deciding. Cheat could choose the person with the least amount of votes to be mod. He's just seeing where you all stand.
I never said that was what Cheat was doing....

Your post implies that you believed this poll automatically chooses the mod. My bad.

I'm honestly surprised by some of the names up there.
This is why the community should not decide who is a mod. It is a popularity contest like last time. Cheat should not take the community's opinion into account and should just choose the people who should actually be mods.

Critique from a writer inbound:

Quote
The German Peasants’ Revolts were a series of revolts occurring from 1524-1526 in which peasants ran amok throughout the German states, with some groups converging on the town of Memmingen, Swabia, to form a Peasant Parliament and voice their grievances in the Twelve Articles of the Swabian Peasants. The revolts were caused by religious teachings and abuse inflicted by lords, and were responded to with support, as well as condemnation.

The introduction is weak, in my opinion. The thesis is fine, but as a whole, it falls flat.

Quote
Abuse and oppression inflicted by lords upon the peasantry was another significant cause of the revolts. Abuse of the serfs had long been a characteristic of the feudal system, and statements in the Twelve Articles of the Swabian Peasants (Document 2), which speak of lords forcing more services upon serfs without compensating them for additional labor serve as a testament to this. Indeed, Caspar Nützel, in his letter to Duke Albert of Prussia (Document 9), referred to the mistreatment of the peasantry as excessive in nature.

It's pretty obvious, in comparison with the other two body paragraphs, this one is extremely weak. Try and bring in more outside knowledge on the subject.

Also, add a conclusion.
