We'll look into it. And if you do that, you should highlight the entire space in between the lines of the forum you are in--not just have a small rectangle. Um, maybe. Probably looks better in my head than it does in reality.
I believe we tried a larger box, but it just didn't look good. The current size generally does seem to be the most appropriate. It's just an additional thing, on top of the banner, to say where you are.

How much bigger would you suggest? We can't go too large, because then it gets extremely cluttered looking. Actually, you see the faint vertical line between the Sep7agon logo and the News board? What if you added those faint vertical lines between all the boards? It's a tiny detail, but I think it would give the illusion of size... Like you're actually clicking on a button instead of just the text?

I still don't get why there's so much blank space on the sides, this was one of my issues with the old site too.
There's talks of perhaps adding something similar to what b.old had, with pinned posts/hot topics on the sides. This gives room for that in the future.

Leaving it sitting there, whether the colour changes or not, just seems odd.
It's possible we will revisit that later and possibly change it (Though it's extremely similar to what we had, just relocated). The focus will likely be on the bigger issues (I.E. The problem with Youtube clips) immediately, with smaller issues like text size and notification changes afterwards.

Hell no. That would be straight up retarded. If that box were any bigger, it would look clunky as hell.
Well, the way it is now, the text is too small. Like, way too small.

First off, I like this update, it's pretty awesome and slick. But I do have a couple problems.
The small gap between the banner and links to the boards is bothering me, not sure if it's intentional or not.
The notifications button. I use a touchscreen laptop and having to click on the small "!" can be a little tedious, I do think it should be its own separate button to ease access.
I thank you guys for your hard work, I think this is a great overhaul. Cheers.

It's awkward to see some things properly.
And the buttons meld with the background a bit.
There should be a gap between pinned threads and normal threads, or some more noticable way of recognising they're not all one lump.

The old look is better though, doesn't have your avatar blocking shit when you scroll down and was easier to navigate between boards
Remember that there are going to be glitches - that will be repaired eventually.
