I want to, but, as great as my school is, it sucks at advertising its clubs and organizations. I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for something to join.
Does your class have a Facebook page - as in, a "Class of 2019" page or whatever? If there is, a good chunk of the time clubs and events will advertise there.
Check out the SUB as well.
It does, but I deactivated my Facebook account a while ago. I guess reactivating it and joining the group is worth a try, thanks.
And what's SUB?
The Student Union Building (Where I'm from, we just say SUB). It's kind of the center of a university - a lot of them have food courts or the bookstore there, along with where people advertise clubs and such.

When I was a freshman a couple years ago, I went through a couple groups of friends before I finally found one that has become a family to me - and I met them through one guy that I had spoken to only a few times. He invited me over to their dorm building to play cards, and the rest was history. Got a dorm change to that building, and we hung out pretty much every single night between dinner, library sessions, and classes together.
And that's with me being an introverted fuck who can barely form a sentence.
Once classes start, and you're on a schedule and routine, it'll get easier dude.

X ATHENS, Aug 20 (Reuters) -- Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras resigned on Thursday, hoping to strengthen his hold on power in snap elections after seven months in office in which he fought Greece's creditors for a better bailout deal but had to cave in.
Tsipras submitted his resignation to President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and asked for the earliest possible election date.
Government officials said the aim was to hold the election on Sept. 20, with Tsipras seeking to crush a rebellion in his leftist Syriza party and seal public support for the bailout program, Greece's third since 2010, that he negotiated.
"I will go the president of the republic shortly to submit my resignation, as well as the resignation of my government," Tsipras said in a televised address before he met Pavlopoulos.
Faced with a near collapse of the Greek financial system which threatened the country's future in the euro, Tsipras was forced to accept the creditors' demands for yet more austerity and economic reform -- the very policies he had promised to scrap when he was elected in January.
"I want to be honest with you. We did not achieve the agreement we expected before the January elections," he told the Greek people.
"I feel the deep ethical and political responsibility to put to your judgment all I have done, successes and failures."
His decision deepens political uncertainty on the day Greece began receiving funds under its 86 billion-euro ($96 billion) bailout program, five years after a previous government took the first bailout from the euro zone and IMF.
But a snap election should allow Tsipras to capitalize on his popularity with voters before the toughest parts of the latest program -- including further pension cuts, more value-added tax increases and a "solidarity" tax on incomes -- begin to bite. This may allow him to return to power in a stronger position without anti-bailout rebels in Syriza to slow him down.
Jeroen Dijsselbloem, who chairs meetings of euro zone finance ministers, said he hoped the resignation would not delay or derail implementation of the bailout package.
"It is crucial that Greece maintains its commitments to the euro zone," he said in a statement to Reuters.

Full Story(CNN)Two women are about to make history by becoming the first female soldiers to graduate from the Army's exhausting Ranger School.
They're among the 96 students who will graduate from the intensive training program Friday in Fort Benning, Georgia.
This was the first year the Army opened the course to women on a trial basis.
"This course has proven that every Soldier, regardless of gender, can achieve his or her full potential," Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh said in a statement.
But it's not clear what awaits the female graduates.
Unlike the male graduates, the two women can't apply to join the 75th Ranger Regiment, an elite special operations force.
The Pentagon isn't expected to make final decisions about exactly what combat roles women will be allowed to fill until later this year.
The fact that women aren't allowed to perform certain roles comes as a surprise to many millenials, said Council on Foreign Relations senior fellow for defense policy Janine Davidson.
"This is an important moment and an important week because I see it as reality and perception catching up with each other," said Davidson, a former U.S. Air Force aircraft commander and senior pilot. "Women have been on the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq. ... So you see policymakers in the Pentagon are ready to say, 'We don't see any reasons why women can't be (in certain roles).'"
Good on them - hopefully they are giving the same respect as all other graduates.
