General Rak Levan orders checkpoints be established on all hyperlanes that cross the Inner Core. All travelers must check-in with the blockade if they want passage through.

Any move to block Republic military or civilians from reaching Empress Tetra will be seen as an act of aggression against the Galactic Republic.
The Sith Empire will protect the Inner Core at any cost.
The 6th Sith Death Squad is dispatched to orbit Empress Tetra.

The Sith Empire is more than welcome to protect systems that they control. Worlds outside that control will be defended as necessary.

General Ku orders an additional 25 starships and the Iron Fist to the Empress Tetra system.
The Sith will remain near Empress Teta but will not engage. The 6th Sith Death Squad is ordered to set up a blockade guarding the Hyperlane into the Inner core beyond Empress Teta.

The 9th Sith Death Squad is sent to Vulpter.

Chancellor Abin thanks the Empire for respecting Republic sovereignty. Coruscant will remain open to trading with the Empire if they choose to do so.

The Iron First and 15 starships remain orbiting the Empress Tetra system. The remaining ten ships return home.

Having taken a huge detour, Kit Fisto's shuttle finally arrives to Republic space.

Chancellor Abin and a Senate delegation greet Kit Fisto and his shuttle at the landing pad.
Master Fisto wants to discuss the ways on how this alliance will be developed. What are the Republic's propositions?

A mutual defense treaty would be beneficial to counteract Sith expansion out of the inner core region.

The Republic will grant the Jedi approval to conduct any peacekeeping and diplomatic missions in our territory, in exchange for a contingent of Jedi to be stationed on Coruscant. Those Jedi will operate until General Ku, in the event of armed conflict.

The Jedi will also gain access to medical and military advancements achieved by the Republic.
Agreed. The Order will send out 3,000 Jedi Knights in civilian vessels towards Coruscant in an effort of building a Jedi Temple in Republic City. They shall be under the command of Master Fisto there, and he shall be the liaison to the Republic from now onwards. The Order also asks if they could recruit any Force-sensative from Coruscant in order to bolster their numbers and thus aid the Republic better.

The Republic feels this is an appropriate agreement. Any Force-sensitive children throughout the Republic will be sent to the Jedi Temple upon completion. Until then, they will be sent to the original temple.

Chancellor Abin invites Master Fisto on a tour of the city, in search of a suitable location for the temple.

Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders booed and jeered when as the Vermont lawmaker and former presidential contender told them, "We must elect Hillary Clinton."

Appearing for the first time this week in Philadelphia, where the Democratic National Convention kicked off this afternoon, Sanders tried to control the room and his fans.

"Brothers and sisters, this is the real world that we live in," he said. “[Donald] Trump is a bully and a demagogue. Trump, Trump has made bigotry and hatred the cornerstone of his campaign.”
But the crowd, in the last sign of the party struggling for any sense of unity, chanted, “We want Bernie!”

Sanders focused most of his remarks on his accomplishments during the primary battle, including how well he performed with young voters and used the event as a call to action, urging his delegates to stay involved and work to elect progressive candidates moving forward.

The meeting was celeb-filled too and featured many of Sanders standard surrogates such as actress Rosario Dawson and rapper Killer Mike, who helped energize the room.

“The support we have received from every state in this country has been extraordinary, and the grass roots activism is unprecedented in modern American history,” he boomed. “Make no mistake about it, we have made history.”

After Sanders finished speaking, a whispered exchange between the Vermont senator and his wife was picked up by a hot microphone. According to ABC News producers at the venue, it sounded like Jane Sanders told her husband, "They don't know your name isn't being put in nomination." But there are some reports that she said "is" instead of "isn't."

Campaign spokesman Michael Briggs ABC News that Jane Sanders meant there will be a roll call vote tomorrow when Sanders’ delegates will be able to formally vote for him on the convention floor.

Emotions ran high throughout the event, and it was clear that the recent controversy regarding leaked emails from top staffers with the Democratic Party have only enflamed tensions. During the senator’s speech, some people cried, others pumped their fists in the air.

Within the Hawaii delegation, for example, one gentleman told ABC News he planned to vote for Clinton, but others emphatically said they would vote for third party candidates.

“I am hoping to feel better over the next few days to feel better about Hillary Clinton,” Dylan Hooser from Kaui, Hawaii said, but added that the last few days have only felt the group feel less unified with the larger party.

Dare I say, this is becoming a bigger shitshow than the RNC.

But debates can be incredibly important to independent voters, who most of the time are very much on the fence until the last few weeks before election day.
And they'll be the deciding factor this election.

They're the deciding factor in most, if not all, elections.

zero general election debates
Do you think Hillary will be able to beat back Teflon Don in the debates?

Beat back isn't what will happen.

Up until the first debate, voters won't have had the opportunity to see both candidates in the same room. We've heard the candidates go back and forth where Trump has his speech, and then three days later Clinton has hers.  And the next week, it's a repeat. It's all very scripted, paint by the numbers.

While debate speeches are still quite scripted, it is much easier to see the faults and points of error - and they are much more glaring because the candidates are kind of put on the spot where they have to rebut their opponent immediately. Debates won't make or break a candidacy in terms of party line voters. But debates can be incredibly important to independent voters, who most of the time are very much on the fence until the last few weeks before election day.

National polls don't have a large enough sample to accurately reflect the state of play in key battlegrounds, and there is little information thus far on how Trump's convention performance has affected the presidential race state-by-state.
I understand your point, but do you ever worry you're dismissing the evidence because of your own political bias and might end up with egg on your face?

Oh, that's a likely chance. Polling, especially political polling, is a shitty and often less than reliable field because trends and similarities are uncommon between cycles. And sure, I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope that these polls are all wrong.

One of the few constants that remain is that the further away from the election, the less reliable national polling data is. The closer we get to November 7th, the more precise most polls will get. I can get more into that as well.

Fact is, we've only had one half of the party convention, zero general election debates, and both parties just completed their tickets. By late August/early September (as with most years), the data clears up quite a bit.
