Bloodborne actually gives you the option to play offline or online, which is neat (It's the first thing you do when you load up the game)

Yeah, just play offline if you want to avoid being invaded

It's not ideal, but... You'll get to properly review the game at least, without having to skip out on being human

I bought 5 quick picks

Sure, I may as well have wiped my ass with a $10 bill and flushed it...

But you can't win if you don't play. And someone has to win
What if someone doesn't win

You don't have to, but only using 5 estus in long runs is going to be nigh impossible for someone who's going first time through.
You underestimate my power.™

I have a confession...

I barely got past the tutorial in Dark Souls as well, so this'll be an impression thread on a game I've barely played

Gaming / Re: lmao the Oculus is gonna tank so hard
« on: January 13, 2016, 10:13:50 AM »
I wonder if OR is going to be XB1 compatible at some point - or rather, when will it be compatible? I know MS and Oculus are teaming up, hence the xbox controller and shit. With Oculus, Hololens and (IIRC) that partnership with whatever Valve is doing with VR, Microsoft really seems to want to push VR as the 'next big thing'. Hopefully it won't turn into another motion controls.

I would love a Halo game with VR, especially one like Frank OConner was talking about he would love where it's a game about exploring and experiencing the Halo universe as opposed to combat. Just take my fucking money now.
Microsoft has been pushing VR? If anything its Playstation, I haven't heard anything about what MS really wants to do with VR. But they're joining the bandwagon again like usual.

A good portion of their E3 stage was VR announcements. You've probably not been following Microsoft's VR stuff.

I've not heard anything about Playstation VR, but I haven't been following it so...
PS4 has it's own VR stuff, basically

PlayStation VR I think it's called, used to be codenamed Project Morpheus

I love a grind and too many quests to do.
MMOs are my guilty pleasure

799
In a lot of in depth open world games, all the shit around you CAN be daunting, because you don't know exactly where to start, or how much accomplishment you're getting from it in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, I know that feeling entirely. I zoomed out in TW3 map and saw all those question marks and said to myself "this is gonna be a grind isn't it?"

I didn't even look at the map. I rode my horse to some fat spanish guy in a tower then gave up because I had no clue
That's just the smallest area of TW3 too

Game's huge

Thankfully it's not grindy, and the quests are usually pretty unique, more than fetch quests and usually have neat little stories to them

I might give it another shot en
I can back that up. Practically every quest in the game has a moral decision(s) that needs to be made and many of them affect what happens later on as well. Doesn't really do anything brand new as far as RPGs or Open Worlds go, but I've never played a game with such a rich world and story before; believable too.
Agreed with this. My main surprise was the invading empire, Nilfgaard, wasn't the generic "hurr durr evul and oppressive" empire you're used to in any fantasy ever. Instead you actually saw them helping the citizens out, enforcing laws to get order back, and a bunch of other things empires actually freaking do.

I was pleasantly surprised by it all.
They're not evil at all, it actually feels like real empires/kingdoms at war, and it's really cool

i love how fleshed out the world is

I mean, it comes from a book series, so they have a lot to go off, but they've done it so well

800
My issue is more that if I stop playing a particularly RPG-ish game for any amount of time, I find it really difficult to get back into it.
I did this with DA:I, I hadn't played it in forever so when I tried again, I found it hard to continue on my old character, so I made a completely new one

Yeah, you have a LONG ways to go. Even if you don't do any side content, like the extra dungeons. Or any raids, you have a LONG ways to go.
Such is MMOs

My first month's almost out too, it's hooked me enough to want to get at least another month, but I have no way of paying for things online at the moment :<
