Some tips
Save often. This is an old RPG that's unforgiven. If you enter a new city, save.
Save before you lockpick someone. It's cheating, but you can often get a better gun early on that way.
Get a water caravan to them to extend the time of the game for you
And uhhh... idk, the rest you'll just have to enjoy and find yourself.
Spoiler Doesn't getting the water caravan decrease the amount of time you get in the later part of the game?

I just killed the first Wild Hunt guy in the cave with Keira, was pretty hard. I kept stunning him with Axll, running up and hitting him with a heavy attack then retreat and repeat.
he took so much killing
I was juggling quen and heavies when he was stunned from the burst, took forever and when he started to heal I was a little bit mad
I don't even want to count the amount of times I died to that guy
