Also Class, if you reach the end of the game and change your mind about how you feel about the game so far, I implore you to try an entirely pacifist playthrough
if I do I'll uninstall/reinstall it, since this game can apparently detect what you did before resetting it
which, you know, defeats the whole purpose of a reset
Breaking the fourth wall is part of the writing that makes it good
Oh I love it when games break the fourth wall, but usually just when it's a different line or subtle poke at the player
but I read that if you do the genocide route, you can't get the pacifist ending on your second playthrough. Which is just straight up retarded.
It makes perfect sense though given what happens in the genocide playthrough, it really is completely different

Is it a scale thing at least? Do I get a darker mixed ending for the more enemies I kill, or does it just not matter?
Also can I get an answer on this? Since I didn't clear the ruins, should I even put forth the effort to clear the other areas?
You'll get a darker neutral ending if you kill a lot of mobsters, but if you missed an area already then you're kind of locked out of a genocide run

Honestly, that's what this game is all about, I wouldn't recommend doing that since you'll miss out on certain things if you completely reset

I had to sell everything in my Steam Inventory to get enough to buy this, and it was so worth it
Damn
I don't have a lot of steam inventory, and none of it is worth crap.
I wasn't far off having enough, I just didn't want to go out and get more Steam money The game's Steam cards were worth over a dollar each, so I got like $3.50 back

Because it's a choice
Not supposed to != Can't
All about choices
Genocide is a very interesting playthrough though I have to say

Can't actually think of anything awful Bethesda has done
Made Fallout 3 of course
Should've been a top down CRPG

Which nets you the true ending/all the extra crap that makes the game memorable. In the advertisements/trailers it's marketed to you to not kill anyone.
Why even give me the option then that's dumb af
"Hey here's two paths you can take but don't take this path"
Well there's actually 3 main endings It's all marketing though, the game doesn't try to stop you from doing genocide if you wanna

The only stuff I haven't done is the DLC really, but since the game's incompatible with Windows 10 I guess I won't be playing it >.>

Also, the greatness of the story comes out when you do the pacifist run. Meaning you don't kill anyone, because then you can get the true ending and all the characters personalities show, as well as the writing. And if you haven't caught on by now (god help you), the monsters aren't evil.
If you're just randomly killing people, you're gonna finish the game half assed with a "meh" ending for the most part. You'll also be missing a handful of characters and reveals.
that flower has made me paranoid af
and what do you mean, don't kill anyone? What about all of these random encounters?
Avoid killing anyone at all costs if you want a true pacifist ending, if you've killed some monsters then that's fine, genocide actually requires a lot of work to accomplish, you're not going to get it by accidentally killing a random monster It's possible to spare everyone in the game however

If you really are wanting to do genocide first for whatever reason, then make sure you do it properly, you gotta kill absolutely everyone, don't stop until there's no one left to kill
why would I kill everyone, I only want to kill the monsters
EveryoneYou're the only human in the game though, don't worry

You can go on a genocidal rampage if you want, but it completely changes the game
Honestly I love it a lot, I found it a really memorable game
am I supposed to sympathize with the monsters or something
lol
no way jose
Sounds like you're looking for a bad time

Lions are made of sun anyway, that's why they have manes
that literally makes no sense
Their manes are the sun inside trying to escape
What about the females?
They're not real lions

How far should I get in the story?
Well the game sorta recommends you be like level 20 before you attempt the first DLC, so keep going with the game until you reach that level

It makes me sad to see 343 try to steal Destiny's fanbase with such blatant copying

Blehhhhh
Do I want to just get this for the PS4 if the reviews are good?
dont listen to reviews... watch gameplay and decide for yourself..
I'll be sure to do that too, I do tend to read through reviews rather than look at the number score they give though
