I had to do group projects in my engineering courses since it was all about learning to work as a team since that's apparently what ENGINEERS DO
My team was actually pretty good though so I was ok with that, I also waited until that part was done to drop out because I didn't want to let them all down

no it seems like its a sidequest. shows off gameplay and nothing more imo.
Oh, I just saw a video of the beginning of the game, up until the Vault Tec guy comes along and you put in your name and SPECIAL stats Interesting to note that the guy could only average out all of his stats at 4, that's way lower than normal

You have to keep context for the time they were in, which was the 90's. If you compare Fallout 1 to 3 or NV, of course you're gonna go "lol old not close". Back then, every RPG on computer was top down. I honestly think the combat was fine. People still rave about Baulders Gate and that follows more or less most of the same formula. If you're not going to keep it in the same context and hold it to the standard of the genre at the time, you may as well not give an opinion.
It's just the genre it was in, and games like Pillars of Eternity bring it back with power.
What keeps annoying me is that my attacks constantly miss because I'm always just unlucky, but otherwise the combat is fine
