Steam is accepting refunds for No Man's Sky regardless of playtime.

The entire premise was discovering things but your discoveries don't even get saved?
Exactly, there is no point anymore. I guess they thought no one would actually get back to their starting planet, just like they thought players wouldn't run into each other.

yeah, i guess i won't get this game after all--shame, i remained super optimistic about it for some reason, too
I did too. Exploration and discovery were the only parts of this game that still kept my interest, but now it seems to be entirely pointless if most of your discoveries will be wiped. The only thing left for me is taking screenshots, but that doesn't validate spending $60. At least by taking screenshots I can archive all of my cool discoveries. I really hope this turns out to be a bug affecting several people or a server issue.
