Yall are making me want Stellaris. Is it fun?

yeah, but like other paradox games by buying it early you'll have to wait for content updates and expansions to get some of the more interesting things that can be done with the game, although mods really help stellaris fill the gaps between official updates

so you can buy it now get your fill and return every couple of months when a content update comes out or wait a couple years and buy it for a reduced price with a lot of content updates already installed
Joke's on you, HoI needs no expansions to stay fun.
So you recommend HoI?
If you can be okay with putting ten hours in to a game just to figure out all the mechanics and not even be ahead of the learning curve, yeah. Watch some of the dev diaries and online tutorials if you've never played HoI3 or a EU game.
I'm still absolutely ass at maintaining a navy  and really cant play as any nation that needs a big fleet... That's why the allies were able to kick my ass last time when I played as Integralist Brazil.
Okay, I thought this would be the case. I'd assume CK2, EU4, and Stellaris are the same.

How do I use console commands if we are, fam?
Good question. Maybe the programmers wanted to punish us.

i wish
Why is that?

my actions wouldn't have any real consequences, meaning i could do what i want.

i mean, i kinda already do that but i do have people that depend on me to work and do things for them. kinda have to thrive for their sake.
Your actions would still have consequence, just in the simulation. Some things being objectively artificial doesn't make it any less real to the person experiencing it.

my  understanding of the simulation is that my entire world is simulated, meaning no one else exists and are simply a product of my mind
I thought he was referring to like a Matrix thing

what you're talking about is more like solipsism

well yeah, idk why i was thinking under the the solipsistic version of a simulation but i was when i wrote my original reply

a matrix simulation would be no different from the real thing
I was thinking along the lines of a matrix simulation.

So, for those of you unaware, the Voynich Manuscript is a strange book written in a writing system never seen anywhere else. The text is accompanied by strange drawings, some of which look like flora. To this day, no one has been able to figure out the writing system.

why would you put money ON your Steam account

if i buy something, i just put in my credit card info
Because it's the method I prefer. I don't see why this matters though.
i just don't get it

i don't trust my money being anywhere other than my own pocket
Usually when I put money on my Steam account, I spend it almost immediately, as I already know what I want to buy.
So it's not like it sits there for months.

I'd recommend EUIV, but I also plan on buying Stellaris.
I played the demo and had no idea what to do. I played as Austria and ended up winning against Bavaria, but I have no idea how to manage everything. Does the full game explain the mechanics better?

Here are my thoughts: while I consider it fairly interesting, I do not think it is true. It makes little difference even if it is.
