Why would you pre-order it anyways?
If you preorder it on the Xbox One store you can download it but can't play it.

Is anyone getting any more audio/video ads that autoplay? I think it should be fixed, since I put in a filter for the bullshit stupid ads.

frack it I'm not taking any chances. Using ad-block forever.
Rather you didn't, but I can't stop you from doing so.

Just know I'm giving you the disapproving look through the computer monitor.

You should set up a donation page instead if money is really that critical to keep this place alive. We have way more than enough members to chip in money.
>implying any of us aren't cheap asses that wouldn't donate

You're all cheap asses.
Isn't a self sustaining website better than one that relies on donations better anyway?

No. I recently donated $35 to a small community of mine and I got more out of it than I could possibly imagine and they don't have ads to begin with.
....except donations won't last forever, whereas constant small revenue from ads will

Well gee that's too bad then, because nothing lasts forever.
I don't see how that's a valid point.

Reality itself isn't even a valid point. I even block ads from ProBoards because I cannot support it's bullshit. Ads are cancer.
Good for you?
I mean proboards are one thing, but a small independently run website like this is another. This website needs its ads to survive whereas proboards is huge and just does it to generate profit.

I don't know what cheat does for a living but I'm highly sure that ads aren't the answer in this case. If cheat is so good at coding, he should do this kind of shit for a living and there you go! He'd be able to pay for the hosting!
If a director makes a movie does he use his own money to fund the movie?

If you go the donation route, I'd take 5 bucks off my earnings for the day. One week of 5 bucks from me would be a month for you.
That would be way more than I'd ever consider asking. I appreciate the gesture, but right now I'm seeing how well we can go with this ad service.

I will be sure to let everyone know if and when we start accepting donations. ;)

Can't stop me from implementing it. Starting now, I'll put five aside every day. If it hits the fan, it won't hit the fan for long.
But you have other financial things to worry about...

I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Because Microsoft.
I preordered it this morning and it's currently downloading on my Xbox One. 5% there.

And the stores are connected so I think you should be able to purchase it and then download it to your Xbox One when you get it.

Considering that MCC is just a bunch of repackaged, HD versions of old Halo games that everyone has played the hell out of I see absolutely no reason to even take a glance at it

Halo 2 classic and Halo CE (Xbox Version) is better than any computer game ever released.

This isn't even about whether PCs or consoles are better.  All this has to do with is that you're basically paying $60 for games you probably already own and have played.
Not everyone has played the Halo games. For some the Xbox One is their first console and the MCC is a great package for them.

I'm confused. NeoGAF uses Adsense and that site has plenty of profanity and nsfw threads.
You figure it out, because I have no idea and neither do hundreds of other site owners who got the shaft.

Google Adsense Account Disabled
Hello,

With our advertising programs we strive to create an online ecosystem that benefits publishers, advertisers, and users. For this reason we sometimes have to take action against accounts that show behavior towards users or advertisers that may negatively impact how the ecosystem is perceived. In your case, we have detected invalid activity on your AdSense account and as a result it has been disabled.

We are limited in the amount of information we can provide about your specific violation. We understand that you may want more information about your account activity. However, in order to protect our proprietary detection systems, we are unable to provide further details.

In some cases publishers can make significant changes to correct the violation and are willing to comply with the AdSense program policies. For this reason, we offer an appeal process as an opportunity to work with you to resolve the issue. Please be sure to provide a complete analysis of your traffic or other reasons that may have generated invalid activity in your appeal. Submit your appeal using this form and we will follow up accordingly. Before submission, please review the list of the top reasons for account closure.

Thanks for your understanding.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team
Are you going to send a reply email asking what should be changed on this site?
This slap in the face has nothing to do with content. They think we have been clicking ads to generate money for the site maliciously.

It's bullshit, but we can't do anything about it. I can tell you that if this sticks, I am out over $200.
Could it be because of all of those ad people that generate a lot of guests? Maybe the numerous spikes of guests and ad revenue triggered something.
I took those ads away like half a week ago. It's possible that was what made them look into it, but you should look up "invalid activity adsense" and watch some of the videos you find.

This happens all the time; sometimes huge, $10,000 per month sites get axed after a year or more of clean, fine activity.
Are the guests that are online right now more investors or something?
Yeah. Since we are back to Adversal and the ad is now above the fold (which brings in the big bucks, so to speak) we are getting potential ad slot bidders.
I don't know about the desktop version, but for mobile (ipad) the ads are fine. They don't play any sound and aren't sketchy.
The ads were set to allow video and that (I think) was causing issues. It should be fixed now.

Since we are no longer bound by adsense, I have enabled ads from adult/dating sites on the forum, so that should help us get some more interested parties.
Sounds fine to me.

As long as we don't have what 4chan has.

The Xbone uses Blu-Ray discs which are able to hold 25gb, 50gb and 100gb. Why the hell do we need to download a day one update that's that huge? Disc space is clearly no issue here.
Triple layer Blurays I don't think are being mass produced yet.
