Yeah, im a liiiiittle cynical but theres hardly any real gameplay of it apart from a few seconds so maybe ill be pleasantly surprised.
I think people are just happy it's not another modern/future shooter. We've had SO much since 2007 and people are just sick of them. WW1 has never really been done. You can't really blame them for being excited.
yeah i get the excitement but a 'new' setting just doesnt do it for me if the core is the same.
Core to you seems to mean that it shares the same genre when it comes to shooters at least.
Do something with the movement. WW1 was muddy, make it organic so it feels muddy. Do something with the art style, or rather add one because realism is dull <.< Take some liberties with the setting, dont ground it so much.
