Tekken 7 seems really popular lately. i dont get it.

tbf it's pretty hard to balance action and horror. The second you get a gun and a decent supply of ammo, no game can be scary. After killing Jack in RE7, the rest of the game is just casual puzzles and some simple shooting.
Re4 still managed to keep the tension high in the later levels even though you get plenty of ammo. Might not be scary in a sense, but you definitely got the same feel.
You actually dont get that much ammo if youre a good player because of the dynamic difficulty so it can be a tense experience throughout. I quit the game on one playthrough when i hit the regenerator labs and had no fucking ammo, FUCK that place

I dont get WHM. Your offensive spells cost like 1/10th of your MP to cast so its almost better to not deal damage at all if the tank is being sanic. And i dont feel right just sitting idly by only healing.
Lucid Dreaming and Ether only extend it for like one extra pull. Is this just the way it is or what?

There isnt much of a overarching story after 1, 2 and 3. First game is the setup for events and characters, 2 is the follow up event and 3 takes place in the same time as 2. 4 and 5 are mostly focused on characters dealing with Umbrella remnants.
6 is like a mash up of characters dealing with umbrella remnants while introducing a side character from 2 and the son of a major character from multiple games.
So really play them in order if you become interested in the characters and some minor sub plots.

Play what you can in order. 5 and 6 are schlocky but fun gameplay wise. Revelations 1 was forgettable and while i havent played REV2 it looks much more true to the original formula.
