...they all actually died?
Yeah dude you don't remember? For the majority of them, there was a Sociopaths United (private group) meet up at some camp place in California, but it was during the wildfires and well... yeah.

A few others passed because of various medical reasons and what not.

...wow...just...wow

The Flood / Re: Ok, now for some sad news.
« on: November 04, 2014, 08:03:44 AM »
On the subject of, well, rather sad news, I learned something today. Over the past month or two, this little woman has been coming into my cafe. And, for the most part, I didn't really take too much notice of her. But one day, something caught my eye. She came in with a cast on her arm.

I was curious, and I did a little bit of digging. Turns out, this woman was working as a farmhand in the fields when a combine wrench fell on her arm and snapped it like a twig. But, a day later, she was back at work with a cast.

Gutsy little woman. And, I started paying more attention to her. Realized that she's very quiet. Speaks intelligently. And, today, I put the last piece of the puzzle together. Not only do I understand why she's so gutsy, but why she's so quiet.

She has a hereditary congenial heart defect. What this means is, at any time, at any age, her heart can just stop. And she'll die on the spot. One of her older relatives died at 35 because of it.

So, now I understand. And I'm going to do something about it. In person, surrounded by people, I'm not much of a speaker. But I can write my thoughts freely.

And the more I watch her, the more I see. The more I listen, the more I understand. She's not open to people, because it hangs over her that she could die, at any moment. And, she's depressed about it.

So tonight, I wrote some words down, on paper for her. And, when and if I bump into her again, hopefully I can brighten up her day.

But, onto the subject at hand, that sucks. A few months back a nice 17 year old in town lost her fight with lukemia. It's good that they caught things early though. The earlier you catch a cancer, the better.

Stalker.

Things work a little bit differently up here amigo. Word of mouth, gossip, is ever present. Talk to the right people and you get the truths about folks. Can't call me much of a stalker if I've only ever seen her in person about 7 times over the course of three months.

You're still a stalker. You shouldnt concern yourself with other peoples lives like that.

Based...

You don't post often enough, nor spend enough time on here.

I have over 1300 posts
All that stuff was rejigged recently.
So it's harder to rank up.
I went down 2 ranks even though im pretty damn active
2 ranks? You were never Mythic, so you actually only went down 1 rank.
Legendary uns
Heroic invs
and now heroic uns
Oh.
I didn't realize the post count ranks were changed too.
They weren't. If you had posts deleted or something ,that could cause you to rank down, but I don't see how it could happen otherwise.
Can you make me Legendairy, now Cheat?
Sure. Get about a thousand more posts and we'll talk.
are you gonna help me out when i get to 3000?

Yes

Last of Us and TWD suck dicks but games with moral ambiguity are cool

You thought TLOU was bad?

Your the first person I've ever heard say this

It really was bad.

BC1096 don't give a fuck

Quote
Joel, the main protagonist, sacrifices and kills a lot of people so he can bring Ellie to the fireflies. Then, he betrays the fireflies and saves Ellie. But Ellie was the key to the cure to the fungal disease which has destroyed humanity. So, in turn, Joel becomes the antagonist of the over arching storyline, as he chose to save Ellie over the rest of humanity. But put yourself in those shoes, and let's say it's your child. Would you have them sacrificed? Would you have them killed? Without their knowledge. There is no correct answer. And it exists in the morally gray areas.

That wasn't morally grey at all. The white male protagonist kills the bad guys and rescues the little white girl.

Your right, he had to kill the black lady.

IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE

Hmmm...I've never heard of it. I'll look into it
It's a series of novels written by Stephen King. Actually, the vast majority of his works are connected to it in some way.

If you reccommend it I see no harm in giving it a read

When it comes to stories, good vs evil as a premise doesn't grip me as much. Sure there's a lot of great stories centered around this cliche struggle, but I find the search for truth/discovering oneself/a quest for understanding to be the most engaging to me, even over the struggle for survival.

What's something that exemplifies this, so I can get a grasp
I'm not sure exactly. I know one series that seems to emphasize it more is The Dark Tower.

Hmmm...I've never heard of it. I'll look into it
