Gaming / Re: Why do people insist Destiny is an MMO?« on: September 19, 2014, 06:18:59 PM »
Because people are dumb, and despite Bungie stating before they even announced the title of Destiny that their next game wasn't going to be an MMO, people just read "Bungie, next game, MMO".
I mean, it should've been fairly obvious to anyone with some kind of functioning brain that it wasn't an MMO. Bungie repeatedly said it wasn't, they announced very early on that you'd go through the game in a max party of 3 while being able to encounter other players, the Demo showed that in-world the max player count was ~12, and there were no signs to support that it was an MMO despite it having some of the common RPG elements that MMO's have. 9848

Gaming / The level of Bull shitting is impressive« on: September 18, 2014, 01:28:42 PM »
Never have I seen such professional bull shitting in Gaming Reviews, use of inappropriate metaphors to sound intellectual, claiming the genius of something, how it's just the tip of the iceberg, then going on to not state anything to support your point, and using misinformation and the lack of information to make it sound so extraordinary and mysterious.
The author of this article could well be on his way to being a politician. 9854
The Flood / Re: Star Wars Thread? Star Wars Thread.« on: September 17, 2014, 08:48:55 PM »No, that was some guy that came into LucasArts upper management that told devs to stop working on Battlefront 3, Republic Commando 2, and anything else they had that was good and wanted to push out garbage instead. The Mandalore episodes where all of Mandalore is shown as a desert and they've all turned to peace-loving hippies is what stopped the series from continuing. Karen Traviss, the author of the novels, was quite displeased with the news that the show completely and utterly ignored the years of work she had done and contradicted much of what she had written. She left without finishing the series, shortly afterward.I can't forgive TCW for making the Republic Commando series non-canon and cancelling Imperial Commando 2.The Clone Wars and the EU are canon. All EU is now noncannon. Anything released past April 2014 is canon, except for stuff referenced. Like Darth Bane was in The Clone Wars, so he's canon.Nope. It does not matter what Disney or George Fuckedus say, they cannot simply destroy thirty years of established canon. The EU is canon, The Clone Wars is not canon, it is as simple as that. But with the story being screwed up from TCW, I can't imagine it helps. 9855

TCW had to deal with people bitching relentless at them for fucking up something with their poor excuse for a children's show, and they had Delta Squad make a short cameo hoping it would make people stop. They tried to retcon their mistakes, but Traviss said when she first announced she was done that even if they did fix it she wasn't coming back since they had such disrespect for people working on the same franchise. Point is, TCW fucked tons of things up. 9856
