Gaming / Re: Why do people insist Destiny is an MMO?
« on: September 19, 2014, 06:18:59 PM »
Because people are dumb, and despite Bungie stating before they even announced the title of Destiny that their next game wasn't going to be an MMO, people just read "Bungie, next game, MMO".

I mean, it should've been fairly obvious to anyone with some kind of functioning brain that it wasn't an MMO. Bungie repeatedly said it wasn't, they announced very early on that you'd go through the game in a max party of 3 while being able to encounter other players, the Demo showed that in-world the max player count was ~12, and there were no signs to support that it was an MMO despite it having some of the common RPG elements that MMO's have.

"You can go and jolly well do it now."

Quite the way of saying it, too.

All EU is now noncannon. Anything released past April 2014 is canon, except for stuff referenced. Like Darth Bane was in The Clone Wars, so he's canon.
Nope. It does not matter what Disney or George Fuckedus say, they cannot simply destroy thirty years of established canon. The EU is canon, The Clone Wars is not canon, it is as simple as that.
The Clone Wars and the EU are canon.

And TCW was pretty damn good in later seasons.
I can't forgive TCW for making the Republic Commando series  non-canon and cancelling Imperial Commando 2.

No they didn't? If anything, they acknowledged it's existence. Delta Squad was in TCW.

The Mandalore episodes where all of Mandalore is shown as a desert and they've all turned to peace-loving hippies is what stopped the series from continuing. Karen Traviss, the author of the novels, was quite displeased with the news that the show completely and utterly ignored the years of work she had done and contradicted much of what she had written. She left without finishing the series, shortly afterward.

TCW had to deal with people bitching relentless at them for fucking up something with their poor excuse for a children's show, and they had Delta Squad make a short cameo hoping it would make people stop. They tried to retcon their mistakes, but Traviss said when she first announced she was done that even if they did fix it she wasn't coming back since they had such disrespect for people working on the same franchise.

Point is, TCW fucked tons of things up.

So... They fucked up my chances of a Republic commando 2? And anything thing of the sort?
No, that was some guy that came into LucasArts upper management that told devs to stop working on Battlefront 3, Republic Commando 2, and anything else they had that was good and wanted to push out garbage instead.

But with the story being screwed up from TCW, I can't imagine it helps.

J.J. Abrams ruined Star Trek for me. He is now directing and writing  Episode VII. I do not have high hopes, and I think he will shit on the EU more than The Clone Wars ever did, but that's just me.

The Fine Young Capitalists were able to recover from their hack and reach their funding goal and Phil Phish's career is over, so some good came out of it.

To bad it seems they've bribed the mods on 4chan to ban and blacklist any discussion on the matter even though moot said it was ok. Gamergate threads have been censored for days now.

If you can't beat them, cheat them seems to be the the mantra these people live by.

Wait, who did that? TFYC?

The SJWs.
4chan mods can be bribed?

I just imagined they'd take the money and do what they want.

I don't recall even being able to navigate the confusing-ass levels. Also, what are those names, and why should I care?

Okay I see. You don't like it being it's too confusing for you. If you actually pay attention to the game, you'd see that despite the fact it's unfinished, it's still a masterpiece.

And those are the names of the most significant characters.
>Couldn't get through poorly designed game as kid
>too confusing for you
kk

Again, why should I care about them? What's so great about them?

Considering that each of their motives are very convoluted and mindblowing should be reason enough. And no, I'm not going to sit here and type each motive out. The levels aren't confusing. Making that a reason to hate the game is literally retarded.

Just try to pay attention to the game if you play again and don't be retarded and you'll find which way you have to go easily.
This is a very driving comment that makes me want to go back and replay a game I remember being shitty. 10/10-IGN

>says it's shitty
>thinks the levels are confusing

I don't even know how to respond. A game being too confusing doesn't make it shitty. It makes you retarded.
Poor level design makes me retarded?

Well, shit.

Not sure if serious.
The obvious exaggerations like the extended clip full auto assault rifle and the EU propaganda aside, I was being completely serious. I did run into this colorful duo at Albertson's yesterday.
I'm surprised people still are using guns with clips, let alone making extended ones to work with AR's.

The CIA funded and armed the FSA knowing it would end up in ISIS hands so they could have another excuse to go over there.

Pass. Although I'd like to go murder those motherfuckers.
But what was the motive to go back if ISIS is just an excuse?
Oil. Go back a hundred years and all Western meddling in the Arab nations and Iran are all tied to oil.
Then how come gas prices have only risen since then?
