It's not racism when we all pretend we're the race we're making fun of.

Preface: I'm not Catholic, I've never been, and the only thing I would have to judge by is my incredibly biased dad who spends most of his time watching Fox news, so I'm not going to go by him, and so I may well be talking out of my ass if it seems like I'm assuming something in here.

For the 2nd, like it's been said, that's about self-control. While there are people that are just as qualified that aren't celibate, it's something that works as a test; in a way it's like "if you can do this, then you're probably fine". In my mind, they should make some Male equivalent to Nuns, make Priests something either a man or women can be, and then move on with life. However, it's a bunch of old Italian men running the show, so only God knows how likely that is of happening.

Quote
Permit abortion under some circumstances and encourage contraception.
The second is a no-brainer, and the Pope would be likely to take side in that, I feel, if pressured to make comment on it. The first is going to be a tough one. Yes, there's the scientific, "it's just a cluster of cells with no consciousness" argument, but that doesn't get rid of emotions and the feeling that it still has the potential to be born and deserves that right. And while that potential may undoubtedly make some other people's lives a living hell, even the most painful and difficult of lives are viewed as sacred and necessary for the world to move forward.

4.) It's often associated with lust, not always, but most times, which is why it is viewed as a sin. Personally, I don't care much for it, but I do think it isn't something that should be made a habit of.

For the 5th, I don't think it's because of making children. As I recall, it's about making a commitment between, you, someone you love, and God.

6.) I don't know that they do that, but if they do then they should likely have some conversations/training about discussing it with other members of the church that are more experienced. Again, all assuming that they do give out advice.

7.) They more or less have for quite a while, but part of their goal is to spread their beliefs to all those willing, and not going out of their way to spread their word doesn't get much attention.

You being unable to find a larger meaning from biblical stories, even the more violent ones, doesn't mean those larger meanings aren't there.
Don't try to tell me God sending two bears to maul 42 children for insulting a prophet is a metaphor. . .

What about Muslims, and the meanings they find in the Qur'an? Are they finding meanings which are there, or are they just delusional?
And what would you say if it were a metaphor?

Meta, would it make you happy if I signed into his account right now? He gave me his computer you know. To update everybody in case he died. I have every single password and website he calls home. If I were a bad person, I could mess his profile up something bad. But, lucky I'm not that kind of person  ;)
I'm not sure that actually proves anything.
So what should he do? Take a selfie next to Sandtrap's comatose body and post it on here?

That's why you should back up your OC .22 with a CC .44.
But then what's your backup for the .44?

Who buys a .22 handgun?

People that want a gun, and think it looks cool. Or they can't afford 9mm somehow.

if he pulled out his gun and aimed it at the robber in response and they both didint fire but just had a stand off and someone called the cops...

what do you think would happen?
Sounds really unlikely to begin with, but assuming both had ammo in the guns and neither were willing to shoot, I assume they would both walk away. If the assailant pulled the gun after distracting the guy, because he didn't want a fight, then I imagine the guy holding his own against the assailant would just make him quit.

That, and they have like the 2nd or 3rd largest budget in the government. They don't need all that money and if they do, then put it towards building a damn wall that will keep illegals out, not collecting every grandmother's phone calls

A wall would just be an ineffective money pit.  Immigrants could just dig under it or constantly degrade it.  It'd have to be maintained ect ect.
That or if you wanted to make a stone wall like the Wall of China, you'd have to hire immigrants to come and build it for you.

Makes some sense when you think about it a bit.

Like Velox said, lower fps works for movies as they're passive, and the Ubisoft guy did say something kinda similar to that.
Quote
cinematic experiences are better suited to 30 frames per second.
He says cinematic experiences, not gameplay, but that's not saying they would try to bump the gameplay to 60fps.

Also, this.
Quote
“I think collectively in the video game industry we're dropping that standard because it's hard to achieve,” Guérin continued. “It's twice as hard as 30fps, and it's not really that great in terms of rendering quality of the picture and the image."
Pretty much admits that it's difficult for them, and that the resources it requires don't help the graphical/visual quality of it. Still, no mention of how gameplay being affected by the change to 30fps, and maybe it's not as fluid at 30fps and that's why they didn't mention it. Or maybe they just think most gamers think frames per second make things look prettier, so they just addressed that part of it.

Seriously, you guys hate too much. Chill the fuck down and think things through from other sides.

DHS can go screw themselves
I think just about everyone on this site could agree that the US Government has gone overboard to some degree with paranoia and over-protection/control.

He had a fracking gun. Did it run threw his head to not be like "oh hey, I have a gun and being told to give it to some guy. Let me instead fire a few rounds at him."
The assailant pulled his own gun on the victim, and then asked for the victim's gun. Or at least that's what I got from it; the guy didn't just hand it over to let the guy see it, he was being mugged and didn't use his gun to react. I assume because he didn't think he could do it without getting shot, you can argue that he had the gun in his freakin' hands at the time, but it sounds like he just was too shocked and/or too afraid that he'd die to use it.
Yeah, I know he was demanding it at gun point. But he had to hand it over for the guy to steal it so common sense would be to quickly face the barrel at the guy and just empty the mag on him
With the guy having the gun already trained on you, assuming he's semi-competent, he can still shoot you as soon as he sees that you're making a sudden movement(or turning it to face him). While that might work well in a video game, life isn't always so kind.

And really, the victim really sounds like he wasn't the kind of guy that was prepared for this kind of thing. Yes, there are several key moments in the event where the victim could've turned it around(When the assailant pulled out his gun, when a guy wearing flipflops asks about your gun, etc.), but nothing can really prepare people for the real thing like this; and it sure doesn't help when you're lulled into a false sense of security by your gun at your side and a guy casually talking to you about guns.

And American black people had to sit in the back of the bus. Definitely a great time to be alive.
I still don't get this, the back of the bus is universally accepted as the best place to sit.
Sign of dominance, maybe.
If someone wants to show their dominance by reserving me the best seats on the bus, fine by me.
