Serious / Re: It's happening: AI Edition.
« on: October 25, 2014, 05:31:51 PM »
Now Google needs to invent holograms so the A.I can have physical avatars.
i think i should inform you that volumetric holograms already exist

Wait really? o.O
Tupac hologram?

I thought that was just a 2D one though <.<
The Tupac and Vocaloid holograms, whilst really fracking impressive, are still just images projected onto a gigantic screen of glass iirc >.>
If you take 2 bowls(w/ one having a hole cut out on top) that have a mirrored surface, and you put an object in the center, you will get a hologram of that object(provided you're at the right distance/angle). Put a circular/multifaced screen, then refine this and I don't see why you shouldn't be able to have a hologram that isn't projected onto a surface.

If this works and someone copyrights it, I will kill them.

I actually have one of those <.<
It's a little UFO shaped dish with a coloured ball inside that produces a mirage hologram effect in the centre of the hole >.>

It's just not quite like an AI hologram yet lol.
I only knew about it because my Earth Sciences/Astronomy teacher in HS was super awesome and had tons of cool stuff. Starting the day that thing came out, everyone in class and anyone that passed by the classroom would stop everything and huddle around it. In the 4 years I was there, that was the only thing that ever managed to draw people away from their Smart Phones.

If I had the resources I would try to put one together. Sadly, I don't understand the sorceries known as "electricity" or "digital screens", so I have multiple renditions of the design lying in a notebook somewhere. :(

It took like over a month for my bow from China to arrive here through Chicago back in January. Yet for some reason the arrows came like a week or 2 after ordering them. Snow, man.

-Bear Grylls

Survivorman is way better. I also like Dual Survival.
Les Stroud is always good, unlike Grylls he actually does it alone almost all the time and he stays out in the field until he's done shooting for the episode. Although, they have both managed to eat an amazing amount of things I would much rather not.

The Flood / Re: Cannabis is Superior to Alcohol
« on: October 24, 2014, 10:33:27 PM »
Ah there is no need now <.<

My faith in medicine paid off and a short course of Vitamin D giga-dose boosters and then a longer course of supplements has resolved most of my joint problems <.<

The moral of the story is that if you ever end up housebound, you should still sit outside as much as you can lol >.>

A glass of beer high in hops is good for the bones, and yes sun is a very good thing. Helps vitamin D absorption. Do you drink whole milk every day?

Ah well alcohol is another thing that is haram, I say that jokingly of course but I won't be drinking that ever either. It really doesn't react well with my prescription either, people tend to have the unfortunate habit of being hospitalized that way <.<

Indeed <.<
Semi-Skimmed, Whole is too creamlike for me and it doesn't work so well with Tea >.>
Skimmed is disgusting though, it's like sour water ._.
Strawberry flavored milk exists. If that doesn't make you love Whole milk, I don't know what will.

Has anything happened on the server in the past week? I logged out in the farthest corner of the world planning to bring back pimp-ass Horses to my house, but got tired and I don't feel like getting online to go back yet.
Dusbin was in there. I haven't a clue as to what's been going on though.
Hmm. Still too lazy to drag some stallions half-way across the world at this point. Will consider it.

Would bang.

I'd murder that thing if it ever tried to touch my dick.

Spoiler
That's right. I'm actually stronger than The Chief in this sense. I would do what Master Chief failed to do. Kill it in a matter of seconds.
Okay, go ahead and try to kill that living god with your fists. Good luck.

Spoiler
Actually, apparently, the Chief has "killed" the Didact via an entire sector of a Halo falling on him and exploding on top of another planet. Yep, it takes a super-nuke to kill the Didact. Even then, the Chief believes that Didact to just be defeated and not dead.

I'm a developer. I can just remove it's AI code and enable damage triggers and shoot at it to the point where he can't do jack. Woot! ^_^

Spoiler
I heard rumor that the bastard will be back in Halo 5 Guardians though. Honestly Gravemind was more intimidating than he is.
I really liked the Didact, he was awesome. I see no issue with him aside from having as much screentime as Venom in Spider-Man 3.

I'm not going to like. Whenever people said The Didact in that game when I first played it, I couldn't help but laugh at it. I was laughing at it, in a bad way.

Same goes with the character. It's not even threatening! Doesn't even look threatening at least!
Then you have to blame Bungie for introducing the term Didact in the series. And then you have to blame Greg Bear for making him a literal god who is split into two. If you can't see the power he holds, just by himself, then you don't know Halo.

The Didact could've killed the Master Chief on spot, he didn't because he is a crazy sadist against humans (Thanks to the Gravemind mindraping him in the books) and wanted the Chief to die slowly. He even killed an entire Spartan-II team, Black Team, by his bare hands. He is extremely intimidating because not even the best of the best of the Spartans can even dent him, the Chief was really lucky by beating him (Cortana's death and the monitor's help on dropping a Halo on top of the Didact).

But yes, in the grander scheme, the Gravemind is waaaaay more intimidating than the Didact because...well...he is the Gravemind.

I'm sorry, it's just the build up for this character.... it did not fit in well when 343 took over.

At least in my opinion it didn't.
His build-up is in the Forerunner Saga and in the Terminals.
Same reason why Grievous was fracking pathetic in Episode III, but in the books and TV series leading up to it he was the epitome of badass. It's still a problem, even if the other media treats him right.

This is why it's important to have an exceptional concept artist on the team.
That, and having quality dialogue/conversations/scenes with the character to build them up as a villain in the game. You can't just go, "*pop* Hey guys! Here's your new antagonist for the game!", just no. Sure, he says some lines during missions, but they're really forgettable, I can't remember anything other than something like "Why do you persist?", which has nothing on Gravemind's lines and just doesn't make me think of him as imposing or threatening, all he does for the whole game is hide from you in a floating ball.

I know right? Not to mention at the very end of the game, it's hardly a fight. It's like the very last COD levels. Nothing but an interactive cutscene.
I haven't played CoD since BlOps, but even though the last few games leading up to it had interactive cutscene endings, at least they had the right touch and atmosphere. Like, you better be lying if you say you didn't think MW2's ending was pretty freaking awesome the first time you played it.

Only use Movie maker, and make sure to only use the approved blue backgrounds with white text for credits, intermissions, anything. The following music is appropriate, no matter the scene:
Crawling in my skin- Linkin Park
Let the Bodies hit the Floor
Sound System 009
Bleed it out
Dubstep
Heavy Metal
Breath into me
Great divide- Linkin Park
