Already got a thread on it you fucking dip.

Sorry. Didn't see it, The Flood is filled with this Noelle Star Wars EU canon bs.
Star Wars is never bullshit.
Except the parts you don't like.

Fucking towel heads.

Does this look like a towelhead to you?
Looks like jumper to me.

I liked everything about Reach besides Armor Lock.

Who the fuck let that get into the final game?
"Armor Lock is insane! Its super-powerful! I LOVE IT!" -Luke Smith, Bungie Carnage Carnivale ViDoc

I always loved how in one of their pre-release gameplay videos on The Cage, one of the guys was bitching about how Jetpack is terrible and ruins the map flow.

I love the empire and the rebels sucked shit, but nuking Alderaan is about as easy to justify as nuking Nagasaki.

They were sympathisers and they were hiding the important rebels... ooookaaaaaayyyy buuut we didn't turn Pakistan into a glass crater because Bin Laden was hiding there .-.
We were close to it with Iraq, though.

They actually were planning on bringing Durge back for Season 7/8, and have him be involved on the attack on Courasant. The reason they couldn't bring him in earlier was due to the fact of limited animation, not that he would scare children. They beheaded people on screen, so that's not an issue.
Link? I have my obvious doubts about them being willing to bring him back, with all the childish stuff they pulled about them bringing in a regenerating, super quick, pyschopath that's the only Star Wars character to mercilessly and ruthlessly kill all Jedi he encounters while cursing them out with extreme prejudice and glee.

Quote
Sure, they could have had him in the suit for a few seasons, but that isn't what a majority of fans would want. We only got to see moving hair at the start of season 4. There was no what they could have him be a reoccurring character and be able to animate his tentacles on their budget. They could have done it by season 7 though, but it got canceled.
You keep making these insinuations that you always know what the majority of fans want, how do you know these things? Durge stays in his armor most of the time, and really animating tentacles isn't much different than arms & legs when it comes to Durge. He keeps them in 4 limbs, and moves rather similarly, but sometimes splits them apart to use as weapons. He acts brutish and quick, not really complex movements. Of course, I'm sure they can come up with some reason.

Cultures change, and that was the main plot of the Mandalorian Arcs. The Mandalorians took over again at the end of season 5, but then were mostly wiped out by Sidious when they continued to help Darth Maul.
Cultures change? The thousands of years old ideology of the Mandalorians, changes? Because a group of Humans on the planet Mandalore say so? Despite there being Mandalorians throughout the galaxy and the ideology being well and alive? It's like if Conservatives were to say they were Liberals, but keep following Conservative ideas; they're clearly not Liberals, they're just calling themselves that and they are wrong.

Quote
I agree, if anything they should have just stuck with Savage Oppress. But it's not like the story they told with Maul was bad. It was really good. There was no harm to it and it only enriched the story.
Well, now you're just dragging it down to your opinion.

The Flood / Re: So about that really really old Clone Wars show.
« on: November 30, 2014, 12:45:06 PM »
I feel like the 2003 show was only fucking awesome 'cause I was ten.

I rewatched it yesterday. It's really boring, IMO. A little bit of character dialogue here and there..but mostly just action with characters that don't even speak. A good thing TCW improved on that.
It's meant to depict the battles of the clone wars, first season is all about that, really rather exclusively, but even still a story is told and we are shown Anakin's rebellious and disobedient nature, and that he's always looking to do things his way and doesn't like it when he's challenged on it, and takes pride when it works for him.

Second season shows Anakin's relationship, how he feels about being a Jedi, and again him doing things his own way. It also does a fantastic job of foreshadowing Anakin's eventual transformation into Darth Vader, and shows how his rage and emotions can easily get the better of him when provoked. The battle of Coruscant is shown and explained, and everything is set up for Episode III. Keep in mind, the real reason was for it to bridge the gap between Episodes II and III, and not to be a standalone or anything else; and with how well taking time for characters sitting down having discussions went for Lucas in the movies, focusing primarily on action seemed like a really good idea for the time.

I will give you that there is very little dialogue, but much of the story is still shown without the use of it. While TCW did do well with giving the Clones personalities and stories for them, and the '03 series might've benefited from that, it wasn't really the best fit for the style and tone of the show.

Grievous could still do all those things, we just never saw him face those Jedi Masters in the Clone Wars. In their first encounter, he got the jump and them and pulled out all of his stunts he could. The Jedi weren't prepared. He was a constant challenge for Obi-Wan, one of the most powerful Jedi aside from Mace and Yoda. Kit Fisto had to retreat from his battle with Grievous, and the only real times Grevious was defeated was through sheer arrogance and luck, which fits his character. Hell, he killed Mother Talzin.
If he could still do all those things, then when did he ever do them? All I remember from TCW fights with him was that they were terribly dull and slow in comparison. If I'm wrong, I'd love to see a video showing him being deadly and competent like he was.

Quote
They didn't? Karen Travis stopped writing because she got butthurt over what a small section of Mandalore looked like. They even acknowledge the existence of Delta Squad in TCW. The Republic Commando game is canon to an extent.
At the time I recall it being said that's what all of Mandalore was like, and that the events weren't limited to that one city/region. That, and Delta Squad's appearance, were damage control from the upset that ensued.

Quote
Which Kit Fisto episode? There's a couple spread throughout the series. As well, they never tried to replicate the '03 series, so I don't know where you're getting that idea from.
The water one.

Quote
The Clone Wars takes place after Anakin gets his scar on his right eye. The event above was way before that. If you want to see that, it's perfectly available to watch in the '03 series.
I've watched it multiple times. The point still remains that Anakin still was questionable in his actions for quite a while after being granted Knighthood, and his relationship with Padme was rather well known. Giving him a padawan would clearly be a poor choice.

Quote
Durge died in the '03 series. He was alive in the comics, which were said to be non canon by Lucas before The Clone Wars came out.
He didn't die though, it was more than evident that he could've lived, and was shown later on, like you said. Saying "he died in the '03 series" is really moot, when Darth Maul died in Episode I, but through far more absurd explanations he was able to come back. They didn't bring him back because they would've been afraid about scaring kids, clearly.

Quote
How is portraying a group of old fashion Mandalorians as terrorists who attack innocent citizens make them look "good". Just because you yourself might be rooting for them doesn't make them the story's protagonist.
Mandalorians are a warrior-culture, and when some people are claiming to be Mandalorians, but are pacifists, and the only Mandalorians that are acting the part are a group of terrorists that want to conquer the galaxy, there's a fucking problem. Especially since Mandalorians aren't a race or specific species, being Mandalorian is an idea, you can't accurately claim to be a follower of that idea and not act the part.

Quote
The fans have been wanting that since TPM. It added a giant story element and character for Obi-wan as well. You've complained in other posts they don't service the fans, then when they do you complain? It sounds like you're butthurt over them not bending over backwards to service what you want. Guess what? You're not a special snowflake.
What fans, kids? I admit, when I was younger bringing back dead characters to have them fight new and create changes to the story and for other characters seemed like a fantastic and fun idea. However, I would expect more from the official writers than something from the mind of a young boy playing with his action figures. In story, death is supposed to mean something, you just don't bring dead characters back to life because they were cool. Yes, they might've been a great character, but bringing the dead back relentlessly shows disrespect for the character and original story that character played in. This is why in Halo people have been bitching that Cortana shouldn't come back, because the death meant something and voiding it makes that story pointless. Was a reaction elicited from Obi Wan? Yes, but it's nothing we haven't seen before.

It's far better to create a good new character, than to keep bringing back the dead ones because you liked them and/or you're afraid to pull off something new.

Sometimes I actually forget people base their beliefs on this stuff.
People also base their beliefs on the idea of Gangsta culture and rap songs and shit.
When it comes down to it, basing your beliefs on something dumb that promotes good is really not all too bad in comparison.

2003 Clone Wars, it is canon, the 2008 one is not.
Sadly the 2008 version is still canon, thank god that the 2003 version is still canon.
2008 Clone Wars is not canon. It contradicted too many things, I really do not care what Disney or Lucas say, neither of them care about the actual lore of the series, they care about money.
Actually you're wrong, Disney had never to do with the clone wars, that was George Lucas idea, George said it's canon, now Lucas, and now Disney claims it canon, you're opinion on this is irrelevant.
I thought it was well known that Lucas was severely butthurt that Tartakovsky managed to do a far better job than he had ever done?

Which sucks because the Darth Bane books were well written.
Those are still canon.

Darth Bane and his books are still canon, thankfully for his appearance in TCW.

The EU is still there, and most of the content creators recognize it as part of the canon because they grew up with it. The majority of content coming out has been respectful to the EU and brought stuff back into the official canon.
What about shitting all over my childhood by making Grievous a pussy that coughs all the time, instead of a terrifying badass that fights multiple Jedi Masters and Knights with ease? What about shitting on the Republic Commando series and making it so that the novels were never finished? What about trying to recreate the cool moments of the '03 series and failing, like with the Kit Fisto episode? What about giving the Chosen One who they were reluctant to make a Jedi Knight so hastily a padawan when that's clearly not a great idea? What about getting rid of Durge? What about making Dooku's head look similar to the '03 art style without realizing it doesn't work outside of that art style? What about making the Death Watch look good in comparison, because there's a group calling themselves Mandalorian and being pacifists? What about bring Darth Maul back to life? Do you catch my drift?

Anything outside the films and clone wars & rebels tv shows aren't canon.

Anyway I heard the EU canon was shit anyway so I'm glad they got rid of it.

Some of it, not all.
Nope. Until it's used in media regarded as canon by Disney, the EU is non-canon.

Woops, I was referring to how some EU canon is good.
Something being good doesn't make it canon

I love how people complain that the new canon is  shit and for kids, even though they haven't watched it. Also, did they forget that this shit existed?

Rebels is Citizen Kane compared to that.
After I acquired a level of taste and a knowledge of cinema, it no longer interested me and infuriated me as a Star Wars fan. It has plenty of kids show cliches, that's kinda evident with the Chosen One getting a Padawan and being placed in an uncomfortable role, but sure enough they grow a bond over time and everyone's happy. Also, the fucking Godzilla rip off episode. Also, that fucking midget/droid/RC episode. Also, replacing Durge with Cad Bane because Durge is too violent and scary.

Yes, and the Phantom Menace is the Holy fuckin' Grail compared to the Holiday Special. Your point?

I think it's hilarious they all think he's some sort of badass, when that's only in the non canon EU and he was already a bitch in the movies.
>Talks back to Darth Vader, the one fucking guy you shouldn't talk back to unless you want to get force-choked to death.
>He fucking gets away with it.
>Best Bounty Hunter of them all.
>Wearing full battle armor that is ridiculously protective.
>Has ton of weapons on him.
>"Dead"

At the rate lore is changed, he'll be back and have his own feature movie short enough.

Okay, more question/critique time. Do the storm troopers look anorexic in Rebels like the Clone Troopers did in TCW? That always bothered the shit out of me, especially because I've got one action figure from TCW series, and all the rest are from Ep II-III.

You mean do away with it in the future? They can do away with anything in the past regarding it, that would fuck with canon, and would make their new movies non-canon.
It's an alternate universe. Not really non-canon.

Dear God, what is wrong with the proportions. Is this bobble-head alternate universe?
Artistic licence.

Proportions are perfectly fine, troopers were just given a slightly larger helmet design. Of course, he'd know that if he ever watch the show. Besides, TIE pilot helmet were always fucking bigger than normal helmets.

Still bigger than that on the pilot in the gif you linked
