If the animal needs to be killed, I don't really see the problem, as long as it's put down quickly, something the fuck in the video didn't do.
Otherwise, killing an animal that doesn't need to be killed is a horrendous act and shouldn't be condoned anywhere.
He could have put it down quickly, but instead he shot it several more times so he could tell himself that he was being humane. Disgusting.
How, exactly does one put down a wild hog quicker than that? IIRC, they don't go down easily.
I've never Hog hunted before, so I may not be right, but I believe you can just shoot it in the head like anything else. If that doesn't work, and if there's no definite kill spot on it, then you should be using a larger round.
Well, I imagine a larger round would help, but is that really guaranteed to make it die quicker than it would've in the video? I know that it's not pretty, but death of the prey in hunting is a natural thing, and it's not always quick.

So what would I like about it, then? That's really the ultimate question that everyone's refusing to answer, isn't it? Take your pick. The challenging bosses and gameplay, the way the lore is something you need to search for and discover as it isn't handed straight to you(minus the intro cutscene of course), the variety of weapons that allow different playstyles, and the sense of accomplishment after overcoming something that was kicking your ass. No, you're mostly okay. You're the only person who appears to be capable of any rational discussion here. Everyone else is just like, "DERP GET A SENSE OF HUMOR LOL". "THIS GAME IS OBVIOUSLY TOO HARDCORE FOR YOU." It's Challenger, Lemon, and Kiyo. They always act very confrontational and aggressive, which makes most people think they're just shitheads who hate you for being different. Maybe I've just gotten used to them, though.

Also, it's a game about being in a dark, dying world void of hope, and where even the NPC's can betray for their own reasons. Having online players 'betray' you by coming in at random and trying to fuck shit up adds to that if you ask me. Although, the NPC invasions are in the game even if you're offline. How is that fun?

Which part? The tone admittedly is not a cheerful one at all, and I understand that's not for everyone. Certain NPCs being deceitful is part of the game, really what's wrong with betrayal in a story/game? NPC invasions can give you a ton of souls and you can earn weapons/armor from them, but you can still avoid them if you're not interested.
